15 should be dark, but not too dark. 5 is a little on the 'too dark' side, but even that isn't so bad.

Isn't 5 "limo" tint?

Affirmative. I've got limo on the back 5 on my car, it's really not bad.
Keeps it a ton cooler, too.

I just don't like the "uneven" look of darker in the rear than in the front.

I think I'm gonna go w/ 25% all around, which means I need an installer that's not too particular about "bending" the law.

35/25 isnt that much to be seen as uneven

No but 35/5 sure is, and the 35/15 Deede's getting might be. MY WRX is 35% all around, and I think I want the SVX to be a bit darker w/o the semi-metallic reflection.

I don't either really, but hopefully it won't look too bad.
I guess if I hate it I'll just get the front redone in 15% then I'll match.

Yeah. It's faded a little bit, but it's not all that bad. I need to get it replaced, as my passenger rear is getting blurry, and every window in the cargo area has gouges in it from moving so much stuff

When I get it redone I'll do 5% on the back 5 and a 50% (supposedly Cali-legal now) on the front windows; with the back so dark, it shouldn't even look like the fronts are tinted much, but it'll get rid of the green cast on the glass that I have now.....

I havent' read the other posts too well, but if anyone's seen my car, i got my tint done at custom concepts of reno.. (just of S virginia st.) . I think they charged me 150$ for 15% all around... they were charging like 70$ for tint stripping.

My brother said he got charged 220$ for everything 35% front and 20% rear. They give a lifetime warrenty on their tint against bubble-ing, purple-ing etc..

From what i hear from other people, they do a decent job.

I've driven a bunch of cars with all different combinations of tint (35-25) (35-20) (20-20) (15-15) (5-5)

I've decided 15% all the way around is perfect. It's just dark enough so you can't see in it at night.. but it still allows you to see a little bit. People i know who have g35's back home that have 5% all around... say its a pain to drive at night. (which is why they drive with the windows down all the time).. i think tyson has 20% all around and he loves it.

This info may not help at all.. but it's my 2 cents

Thanks Mike

The tint came out great. Right now its completely legal. I don't mind the darker rear parts, so I think I'm going to leave it alone.

You could always get yours redone darker, of course that would take money away from other things.
