yourself... They have many great tools for occasional use.

I have a full Craftsman set for may garage, but for the rare and unusual tools I seldom use, or something to carry in the car, HF stuff is just fine.

Yes, the Pitsburg deep impact sockets I had sucked as well, but everything else I have from them works fine.

Snap-On. MAC, and maybe Craftsman are the tools of choice for people who make their living with their tools use, but HF is fine for the rest of us in most cases

I'm just ragging just to rag.

HF tools are good for the average person for rare jobs.. like a spark plug socket, or something.

However, Craftsman tools are not all that expensive, and while they're not Snap-On by any means, a home mechanic will be hard pressed to break 'em.

I just wouldn't trust HF tools for important jobs... like a torque wrench or something. So far the only HF tool that I'm pretty happy with is my aluminum jack... but I paid $130 for it, so it's not like it was total bargain basement like a lot of their stuff.

The bottom line is, "you usually get what you pay for"... assuming you do a little research before buying. If something seems too cheap, it probably is.
