Oooh! Me!!

I have had my UTEC switched off and running Enginuity-only for a while now. Soon going to get an Innovative wideband to replace my UTEC Tuner then pull all the UTEC stuff out. Will miss map switching... but I rarely used it, and it's coming via open source I'm sure anyway.

Ed uses Cobb ProTuner software, which is better than the comparable but user grade StreetTuner...more functionality.

He gladly tuned ECUTek before his laptop was stolen and Ecutek wanted another $5k to replace the tuning software license; they wouldn't give him a break at all. Cobb on the other hand charged him a nominal fee to replace the license so that's why he stopped tuning ECUTek. FWIW, ECUTek works perfectly fine for 99% of those that have already invested in the license.

Ed would like to tune via open source tuning software but Cobb says that if he starts doing that, he has to stop using Protuner.

And you don't want a front mount with the stock turbo on any USDM Subaru. It will add a lot of lag without much increase in power. In fact, only really large aftermarket turbos or medium large aftermarket turbos in certain environments warrant a front mount. However, any upgraded turbo warrants an upgraded top mount. I'd wait to do the upgraded IC until you do the turbo and other supporting mods including a tune.

For what it's worth, I've seen a friend's Cobb AP in use, and I would get one. . . you know. . . if they made 'em for n/a.
