I sent an email to John Evans asking if there was pre-registration and what time I should be there. Here's his response:
Quote:
There is no pre-registration for students. Arriving slightly before 8:00AM will be best to get your car tech'd and registration done. Bring a Snell 95 or later helmet if you have one. We have loaners but they will be in short supply during the school. Dress warmly as it is often cold and windy at Stead this time of year.

Great thanks for the info. wonder if i order a helmet if it will come in time , guess i'll find out , my luck i'll spend a bunch of time running down to reno on thrusday to pick up rims, and get summer tires mounted and then work late, then it will rain rain would be fun to drive in, but sucks to drive all around the sierras to get a set ready asap and not need em. lol

I PM'd Aaron about his fender roller but he hasn't responded. Anybody know if he will be at the class? I just need a tiny bit of exra clearance for my tires.

No response because he's in Tokyo today. I think he said he'd be up here for the event depending on weather.

If you order by 3 PM or so today from a west coast vendor, it almost certainly will get here in time. Better to have your new tires ready and not need them than vice versa. And rain, schmain... we ran in snow two years ago. It's still fun. Well, driving is... being an instructor sucks ass.

thanks BanSUVs

i'm going to order a helmet before 3pm. i think from soloracers.com as it was mentioned in a diff thread as a place with great prices. i'm worried that a full helmet will cut down on my visibility a lot versus the open face. But in the very rare/fluke chance that something goes through the windshiled eye protection could be a good thing, or is it way to hard to see with the visor down ? (108 , versus 138 ) or is that something i really don't have to worry about ? (if my windshield breaks i'll definatly stop and quit for the day )

Soloracer.com is located in Ohio; I doubt they'd get your shipment to you by friday without paying for 2 day air. Summit carries G-Force stuff don't they?

Open vs. closed face is really a matter of personal preference in closed cars. Open is more comfortable, but closed is nice if you have a big off at Lovelock or RFR.

Thanks a bunch BanSuvs , called summit and reserved the last medium open faced helmet they had in stock. (didn't realize they had a sparks store front) This way i can try it on before i buy it (sizing chart says i should be a medium ) , perfect worst case it doesn't fit and i go with a loaner

Well, worst case is it doesn't fit and you end up with a loaner that doesn't fit. But glad you got yourself all set. You should be okay, my helmet is a medium and I wear a 7-1/4 to 7-3/8 hat. Or at least I used to, I am getting older so it might be 7-1/2 now!

Matt's windows were down for his 'exhibition' run at Lovelock. And yeah, I think we have 1 Solo at Lovelock.

Pat you run when the track is the wettest. The rest of us will wait for clear skies.

I won't mind if its wet as long as there's no gravel. Should I hit up one of my customers to loan me a mongo blower for the weekend?

Actually, what would it take to find a power broom? I don't think anything shory of a jet-dryer will clear off that tarmac, and then we'd be making a bigger mess blowing dust and gravel all over the runway.

This is what we really need:

That's a sweet helmet!

Actually, the blowers work better than brooms.
