Scott, it is pretty clear I wasn't talking about Atlanta. If you can't see that, whatever.

Not really. Your statement was that swamp coolers in general are 80% more efficient than A/Cs. And because of the amount of use here in NV, that adds up to $500. It implies that in Atlanta, it might add up to more or less money, but not that there is an efficiency difference.

If you can't see that, whatever indeed. I'm not arguing semantics, the two statements really are different, to the point that I would not have been arguing with you about this had you said what you meant.

So what are you two going to disagree on tomorrow? It's kind of like a technical version of a daily thread.

If by post 11, you honestly believe I was arguing for swamp coolers in Atlanta and I didn't understand that humidity affected them after stating that the impending storm had affected mine in post 1 and referencing material that was AZ and CA specific, I'm sorry. We could have stopped the discussion then...

And tomorrow's topic is the existence of magic, magicians, sorcerers vs. illusionists and con men.

Guest poster will be the "Great Randi" world renowned expert and debunker of psychic frauds.

I'm working on my thread resurrector merit badge and figured this would be a good one...

I realized on really hot days, a portion of the filter pads on my cooler were drying out and allowing warmer air through that area.

After looking at water flow and distribution I realized my pump just wasn't moving enough water. Bumped up to a larger water pump, and have had no problem keeping the filters wet and the whole house around 70 with an occasional bump to 74 in the heat of the day on the 95+ days.

And the extra humidity is great for my complexion.

I only use the A/C when it's hotter than 80* outside. My power bill is <$100 during the summer and my house is always comfortable.

Walking around in boxers FTW.
