Wow, those are almost exactly the words I was going to type (oh, and good luck on your interview.

Just had an interview today, and if all goes well, next week might be one of the last I spend up in the Sierras. If that is the case, then I definitely have to come up next thursday.

Well, while I was under the car pretending to be a mechanic, Matt got the bright idea that it might be the screw-jack in the trunk, since he had a problem with his rattling around. So we pulled it out and Joel took it for a test drive and didn't hear anything. So we put the jack back in and tightened it down, and so far Joel hasn't posted about clunking, so hopefully that was all it was!

Actually, it isn't fully gone. It is much better than it was, but it's still an issue. I removed the jack completely on Saturday, and went out for some driving. For about a 5 minute span, there was some looseness and clunking, but not as much as before. Then it totally disappeared for the rest of the day (about 200 miles).

On Sunday and Monday, it would still clunk a little at first, but not after that.

My working observation is that it seems to be related to the car being cold. I never got it to do the clunk in Reno or on the way home.

My swaybar and anti-lift kit arrived yesterday, so I'll get them installed soon. The RSB was started to gain some surface rust so I've sanded it and started painting it. I'll probably try to install it tomorrow night, and I'll set up an a time with S-squared for installation of the ALK. I need to find out when Big-O is open so I can get an alignment after the ALK install as well.

If it's temperature related, I can almost guarantee that it's your exhaust.
