Irrelevant, since your car was made almost 30 years after the model debuted.

How so, its still basically the same motor. Except for some minor changes over the years due to smog regulations. In other words, I could take a C7AE block, and build it up to an F0AE spec motor. And vis-versus. So, I don't see how its irrelevant.

A 302 is still a 302, no matter what year car it is in.

You still don't have an old school Mustang. You have a Mustang with an old engine. If I put that 302 in a 240Z, is it suddenly an old school Ford?

Jeez dude, haven't you learned not to get into semantic arguments on this forum?

Nope, just because YOU say its something, doesn't exactly make it true.

Alrighty then. I suggest you take it to a dude who actually does own an old school Mustang and see what he thinks about you calling your '90 Fox "old school."

Here's a sweet 302, is that in ESP?

What if I took out that 5.0L v12 BMW motor and put it in a Mustang... is the car still the same?

Besides, you *can't* take a 1965 mustang motor and put it in a 1990 body and run in ESP. The line in the ESP rules is for '79-'93. So you can update/backdate only within those years, and ESP doesn't allow you to "build up" a motor outside of the factory specs w/ factory parts.

HAHA, just in case you have forgotten. The car I had before I got my STI was a 1965 Mustang with a 289 V8 4v.

I think I am qualified to have an opinion.

For shame. THAT was an old school Mustang... the one you're getting is not. Your entitlement to an opinion does not come with a guarantee of correctness.

I am not talking about taking a 67 Ford 302 block, hence the C7AE designation, and making it into a 1990 (F0AE) motor. I was mearly talking about how a 302 Ford V8 is considered an old school power plant.

And we are telling you that havign an old school engine does not give you an old school car.

'65 fastback with Triton V8 = old school.

'90 Mustang with C7AE = not old school.

'93 Impreza with '05 STi drivetrain swap = old school Impreza.

'07 WRX with '94 EJ22E = not old school, even though it has an old school motor.

Your CAR is not old school. Neither is your motor technically, but that's really splitting hairs.

Yeah, we wouldn't want to be splitting hairs now or anything. That's not what we do.

Your opinion. Which, like everyone else's, is worth about as much as the turd I just finished flushing down the toilet.
