OK, OK, the married couple at the last meet demanded that I reset the ECU and buy a Wideband for serious logging.

Done, and done.

I'll post logging results once I get the LC-1 installed.

Well, a productive rainy cool day at the local PNP yielded a complete EJ22T with damage to one cam pulley but the block and stuff should be fine, plus another 3.90 viscous LSD in beautiful shape. Total: $322

My brother was in there getting a Montero part and tipped me to the turbo Legacy that someone brought in.

Nope, the engine was on a 1993 sedan with 150k on it (no LSD there), the LSD was off a 1991 turbo sedan with 180k that someone else had already taken the motor out of.

Where are you getting your transmission info from? All the charts I'm finding are missing info and/or contradicting each other.

Transmission info? All the 1991 turbos had 3.90 LSD rears.

Plus, the label on the back of the case that says "3.90 Viscous LSD" helps.

Thats a very good example of Transmission info.
I'm having trouble finding more info on other subaru transmissions. I thought you might have a good/correct listing of what gearing and differentials came with which years and makes as all the ones I've found have a lot of conflicting information.

Update:
The Revtronix chip went through the first revision to smooth some issues up, it's pretty nice at this point. I was able to reconnect the factory BCS, so no more MBC for me!

Mileage is sitting at 21mpg over like 10 tanks.

Coming up on 20,000mi since the motor swap.

Running an LC-1, AFR is 10.8-11.0 at WOT.

Switched back to the VF-8, it spools later than the TD-04 but is smoother with my current setup. It seems to be working well with the chip too.

At this point I suspect that it is not making full potential power, I may pull the intake manifold at some point and re-check for leaks. Of course, the motor is pretty old, too. Over the long term I've done a lot to eliminate hesitation and get it smooth, but I may just have to wait until I get a fresh bottom end in there for the full experience....

Came home from several days in the field to find that my brother tagged a deer with the car. Low-speed impact, but still trashed the hood, grill, headlights, and probably moved the whole bumper alignment downward about 1/4".

I had a spare set of headlights and a grill. We took the opportunity to do an AC delete, as it really didn't work anyhow. The spare hood from Josh's car is not perfect, but it will get by until I can locate another '91 turbo hood, or get a 90-91 NA hood and put a WRX scoop on it.

Bad timing, I just am too busy to concentrate on it.

Wow, after a year and one move, I found some time last weekend.

Took a 22T short block I got at P&P last year, slapped the heads from the original motor on there with some Felpro gaskets, pulled all the junk off the old motor and dropped that baby in. After a minor incident with a water pump bolt, I drove it to work today. Motor sounds great, has plenty of juice. There is a slight drip off the oil filter, so I'll have to check that and the oil cooler seals.

This should hold me until I can rebuild the other 22T properly.

Hmmm, an update? Cory at KSpeed freshened up the motor that killed the deer and was subsequently overheated (*&^@&^%!!). New rings and bearings, hone, heads surfaced, and a valve job.

I finally got some time to put this back together last week......and so far so good. Very strong compression and response, all the HLA's are finally quiet, and now the ECU is relearning. I forgot how much fun the car is to drive with that suspension.

I'm debating pretty hard about getting out of it, since I don't have time for mechanicing anymore, and what time I do spend I want to be towards the 4WD. But for now, things are good.

Wow man. That thing is pretty well setup now. Nice to hear that it's "done"!

I love that generation LGT body style... it's really one of the last hold-outs of the wedge design when the rest of the world was going all jellybean. Makes me miss my SVX every time I see your car.

What's wrong with the 4.11? Just looking for some better mileage out of the 3.90? Personally, I'd rather have the 4.11 w/ a LSD than have to swap a gearbox/read-end.

Yeah, the gear ratio itself is nicer. But, the stock 3.9 tranny has a push clutch w/hydro similar to the WRX instead of the pull cable that's on there now. It's a much better feel. Part of it is that I need to install an uprated clutch at this point, and if I'm going to have the tranny out, I'll just put the stocker back in (assuming Kevin reassembled it correctly ). I have both 3.9 and 4.11 LSD rear ends.

And yeah, it's nice to have the engine/management/hardware all figured out.
