Is anyone showing up with a compressor and impact wrench? Still cannot get the damn passenger side front caliper off since Santa Monica Subaru so generously WAY over torqued the bolts.

Breaker bar + hammer = impact wrench.

OK, no need anymore. I guess the second attempt was the charm. Also, I learned something. If you strike a wrench near it's end, most of the force of the blow is absorbed by the flex of the wrench. It works MUCH better to strike the wrench about halfway up the handle. That way most of the "impact" is applied to the bolt rather than the wrench.
For what it's worth, I absolutely cannot believe that they would tighten it that hard. I've probably removed over 20 subaru calipers in my day, and NEVER has anything been near this hard to remove. My wrenches are all dinged up from repeted blows by the hammer. All fixed now. Follow up question. Anyone willing to sell a bottle of Motul brake fluid? I ran out while bleeding/flushing. Thanks and see you all Sat/Sun, Berndt |

I wasn't gonna say anything........ See you guys Friday with the hooptywagon, after I wander around trying to find Reno Hilton 3... Matt, we can just use the hoopty to transport stuff to Fernley, so you don't need to jack a truck unless we need one.

Any word on a meet? BobbyD and I are coming up Saturday and staying in Fernley at the world renowned Super8. We need to check in by 8pm so we'll be leaving the Roseville area around 5pm.

A couple of questions (somehow I got unsubscribed and I'm too lazy to read all 6 pages, so forgive me if I'm repeating something):
1) Will there be a hot lap transmitter near the start/finish? 2) Is 100 octane available at the track? 3) Can I use my own magnetic numbers? (#70)

Mike, 1) No hot lap transmitters, however, during open sessions I'm sure we can convince someone to keep "unofficial lap times" 2) Yes, pumps will be open 3) Yes, please use your magnetic #'s, We will reg you as #70 . That goes for everyone, of you have #'s, please bring them along...

Numbers will be 1st come 1st serve at Tech, chances are everyone with numbers will be able to use 'em as I doubt we'll have too many repeats. Numbers will be assigned/recorded at tech. If you don't have magnetic numbers, you'll get a wicked tight set of tape numbers on your rear side windows.
We're still working on a Tech location for Saturday. Mike, you might want to come up a bit earlier if possible on Sat so you can drop by Reno for tech on your way to Super8 in Fernley. We should have a location and time hammered out early tomorrow.
