I saw an in-car clip from a Silver State run a few years back. Corvette ZR1 doing about a buck-90 around a gentle bend... the backend steps out and the video alone made me just about shit my pants... and we all know from our own in-car footage how little justice an in-car camera does to the real thing. The driver and co-driver must have nearly had a heart attack!

Luckily the driver saved the slide. If he hadn't he surely would have killed himself and his wife (she was the co-driver).

More recently, the organizer of one of these events died in a 200mph tire blowout on the opening run of the event IIRC.

I would love to run one of the events... its the adrenaline/fear factor that makes it so interesting to me... always on the edge of dying if you make one stupid move. Sounds like fun to me.

Mike...its not just a straight line..you have to try and keep high speeds along high speed turns etc....

Looks like a blast to me. Maybe I'll run it this year. 50$ for membership and 250$ for the race for the class I want to run in.
