Question 07 WRX front facia?

I'm trying to install a perrin plate delete kit and am wondering what the trick is to getting the front end appart so I can get to the back side. I'm sure I'll get it sooner or later, I was just hoping someone had done this before. It's not like my 02, that one was a few clips and it was on the ground. Thanks in advance for any help!

Does the Perrin plate delete use the factory JDM holes in the bumper? Most plate deletes do not - you usually just use self-tapping screws like a US license plate. If it does use those 10mm holes then it should have come with inserts so you wouldn't have to remove the bumper to install it. If it didn't I'd be pissed.

I guess I'm wondering why you need to remove the bumper cover to install it.

Yeah, it uses the JDM holes and comes with the hardware (a bolt, a lock washer, a cut washer, and a nut, and no instructions). I am pissed, and I'm wondering how I'm gonna get the FMI in this summer! I'm looking all over the web and found more people with the same problems, none with any answers. Nothing on the Perrin web site either. WTF!?

Perrin should say that it is for cars with FMIC only. You can reach the back pretty easily if your bumper cover is cut for an FMIC.

I've never removed an 06/07 bumper cover, so I'm no help there. Personally I wouldn't do it for just a license plate delete. Return the Perrin and plug the holes for now until the FMIC goes in. By then a little bird told me that you will be able to put a CNC-machined delete on that has no hardware showing and may have the SECCS logo on it.

Brilliant! I would much rather have SECCS on the bumper anyways! No, I gave up, it's not real warm out and my patience was all but gone. I appreciate the help though.

I have two inserts that will work on your bumper without taking it off or drilling holes, and I know where to order more. They fit in the JDM holes and expand. If you want them - they're yours in exchange for a beer.

The license-plate deletes I'm working on will not require drilling the bumper for 06/07. For FMIC cars there will be no hardware showing at all.
