Default Weekly Meet - 7/24, 7pm, 4th Turn

On tap this week...

Maybe, just maybe, we'll have some stickers.... but don't hold your breath since the order just went to the printer's today (Tuesday). AFAIK it could take 3 weeks to cut vinyl... but hopefully it's only a day long process... The good news is, we're cutting about 80 stickers, so everyone will get the colors they ordered (we're printing in Black, White, Gold, Slate and Blue), and there should be a few of each color/style left over for the people that missed last week's meet and didn't get their order in.

We need to finally get around to figuring out what we're doing with the show-n-shine / BBQ idea. The Lovelock AutoX was our original idea for a location, but Matt tells me that Lovelock's a really tiny place... he's thinking it'll be crammed just by the AutoX, so I bet there won't be any room left over for the show-n-shine. Since Dean's the "dean" of the next Hawthorne event, maybe we can con him into letting us run the show-n-shine down there... there's plent of room, right?

Speaking of Dean's event in Hawthorne... If you haven't come up with a course design yet Dean, I'd kill to run a scale replica of Laguna Seca!! I'll even help ya design it, if ya want! (not like I've ever designed a course before...)

Also STIwish and nohands are supposed to make it this week, so see everyone this Thursday!

Well, She cut my magnets in one night and had them to me the next day....we will see what kind of magic she can do on the stickers.

Yeah, but I don't have the $700/lap or whatever insane amount it costs to run practice there... Maybe someday there'll be a DE event there I can get to, or maybe I can do Skip Barber.

Actually, I wonder if Skip Barber would give us a cheaper group rate on the 3 day race school... Like $1000/ea if we can scrape together 10 people... yeah right.

Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.

I'm pretty sure they would frown on us making the major topographical changes to the airport much less the paving cost to create a scale Laguna Seca...

As far as the show and shine, I haven't really been watching that thread, what do you need/want?

We do have SCCA Pro Rally on at 8:00, and I think I have a 1/2 hour RALLY XS for Rally Germany from earlier this week.

As far as Seca: I'm not talking about adding hills... Just make the course's turns match Seca's, at like 15th scale, or whatever would fit on the tarmac.

Regarding the Show-n-shine, I think we'll just need some space to park say 15 or 20 cars (not really sure how many entrants we'll be asking for yet) and some advertizing to get people to sign up. I plan on fleshing things out before the next SCCA meeting and showing up with a plan of some sort.

A little RallyXS on tape before the "live" coverage will rock! Dean, you're the rally master!

Lovelock has to be the worst city in the state. You will not see me attending any events in that shit hole.

How about the Lovelock airport - since it's away from town?

RE: show & shine, if integrated into the Hawthorne event, here's an idea: hold it Friday night before the Sat. points event -- we should be able to use the airport's parking lot, since course setup is probably going to be done Friday anyway.

Could ask Art Majors to advertise at the gas station across the street (assuming he still owns it), in addition to any other advertising outlets that can be used.

With the scca event there, you should have a 'captive audience', since drivers will be there anyway for the event, and there's not a whole lot of other stuff to distract in Hawthorne.

Scott, you want to start a separate thread on this barbecue/show & shine idea?

Fun meet guys. Too bad Jason, Tyson, and I lost a few dollars in the casino :?

For all that didn't hear...Reno Subaru Lithia has been telling their new WRX owners about our club...SECCS. Evan and I meet a girl with a new white WRX and she had mentioned the dealer told her about it. So we are getting spread around now!

We should have the window stickers hopefully by tomorrow, so all that show up at Matt's house can buy them and put um on. We will also have samples of the business-type hand-out cards by next meet. If they look good, we will get 1,000 printed.

And the pics from tonight:
