GrimmSpeed Exhaust Gasket Product Line Release
GrimmSpeed OEM Style Gaskets, OEM quality without the high OEM price.
At GrimmSpeed we have worked with endless amounts of aftermarket gaskets, none seem to work as good as the multi-layer steel oem style gaskets. However, the issue with the oem gaskets from Subaru is that they are so expense. Well Grimmspeed has your answer, GrimmSpeed's premium multi-layer steel w/ stainless steel fire-ring gaskets at a great price. Sick and tired of getting those cheap 'ebay style' gaskets that blow out immediately?...well no more! Install our premium multi-layer steel gaskets and say goodbye to your worries. Want to know what else is cool? In this new product line there is a 3" 2-bolt catback gasket!! I dont know wbout you, but I am entirely sick of trying to find a big 3" gasket that doesnt blow out. This 3" 2 bolt gasket has the same great multi-layer steel with 304ss fire-ring as the rest. Oh yeah, and our gaskets are 22% thicker than the oem subaru gaskets. Ugh, looking at all of these gaskets is bringing up bad memories...not that my baggage should reflect badly on your gaskets.

Not at all. I have not yet had the pleasure of using any of your products. I just have a habbit of blowing the preturbo exhaust gaskets out.

I had a non-flex jointed Vishnu up-pipe back in the day that used to blow the header/UP gasket all the damn time. Finally I had Vishnu trade me for one of their flex up-pipes when they came out, and no more leaks, even after re-using the gasket several times. It was great, until the flex joint eventually melted. Now, I've got a Perrin non-flex up-pipe and no leaks. My guess is something in your setup isn't aligning correctly like the problem I had w/ my Vishnu non-flex up-pipe. You shouldn't be eating gaskets for breakfast.

No, you're right of course. I think everthing fits fine (only thing not stock is the Crucial UP), but next time I'm going to replace the hardware and make sure I follow a good DIY (like Dean's recent suggestion) on the correct order to tighten everything. I think I normally start from the turbo and work down.
My first leak was the Exhaust Manifold > Up Pipe Gasket but it was a copper gasket so I switched that one to OEM. Then I sprung a leak between the passenger side header and the block. I replaced every single gasket between the UP and the block and I don't know where it's leaking now. I've ignored it for almost a year since it always seals up once the motor warms up.

FINALLY you have an option for an extra thick Exhaust Manifold to Up Pipe Gasket. The most troublesome mating joint in the Subaru exhaust track is the manifold to up pipe connection. So what did we do? Well lets just say we made a gasket that is as thick as Sarah Palin's accent. More than 2x thicker than the OEM. In all, it is 2.5mm thick..a monster compared to the 1.2mm thick oem!
Whether it is OEM Manifold > OEM Up Pipe, OEM Manifold > Aftermarket Up Pipe, Aftermarket Header > Aftermarket Up Pipe....they all have leaking issues at this connection. Our new gasket solves this problem. At GrimmSpeed we have worked with endless amounts of aftermarket gaskets, none seem to work as well as the multi-layer steel oem style gaskets. The issue with the oem gaskets from Subaru is that they are so expense. Well Grimmspeed has your answer, a premium multi-layer steel w/ stainless steel fire-ring gasket at a great price. This product cross-references with Subaru part number is 144022AA170. Price: 17.99 Link to Product: http://www.grimmspeed.com/catalog/pr...duv9ogls4ao0j4 Just trying to help you guys out! Justin |

Is "doubling up" going to cause leaks elsewhere? Feel free to PM me, anyone who cares about diplomacy.

The two Turbo mount flanges hanging off the back of the block has some play if you loosen the nuts to take up that if needed.
I go back to tightening things in the right order is the key to eliminating leaks... Torquing the exhaust bolts is good as well so pressures on gaskets are evenish.

Introducting our enlarged bore Intake Manifold to TGV gaskets. Why do you want the enlarged bore style vs. the small oem?...the oem gasket hole diameter is much smaller than the TGV itself so you are very limited on matching up the ports of the outlet of the Int. Manifold going into the inlet of the TGV during porting. With our enlarged port gasket we are able to match the IM and TGV up perfectly which greatly improves air flow quality at a very important location in your intake track(right before it goes into the engine!).
Pick up a couple pairs of these to match up with your GrimmSpeed Phenolic Spacers and/or GrimmSpeed TGV Deletes. Price: 9.99/set Link to product: http://www.grimmspeed.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=143 Justin |

The downpipe gasket is going to be a great replacement! I think my friend has needed one for a while now.
