One thing I forgot to mention... lunch at the track will be provided for drivers only. If you are coming, but not driving, and want lunch provided (usually a sammich, chips, and soda... nothing fancy) it will be $10 each, and I need to know buy the end of Wednesday at the latest, so I can tell the track.

To be honest, you'd probably do better just to pack some sandwich meats in a cooler or something and provide your own lunches.

Weather looks like it will be mid to low 90's, no rain (knock on wood). So remember, this is high altitude, so 94 degrees will be hot and you will burn so bring sunscreen, and a hat.

Also, I don't remember reading about a driver's dress code, but make sure to bring all cotton long pants and a long sleeved shirt. Hopefully we won't be required to wear them in the heat, but better to have 'em on hand, then to have to run to Walmart to buy some crappy clothes.

Alright, I'll be there, and not driving, but I'll just bring a cooler and some eats. Anyone else who wants to use said facilities is welcome to (nick)

The Preparation document lists 'Long sleeve shirt & pants' in the Requirements for Registration. At every track event I've driven in, a long-sleeve shirt is required. What helps in the heat, is to wear a t-shirt or something underneath (bikini top, ), so that you can take off the long sleeves when you're done running.

Just goes to show... just because I don't remember reading it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. huh?

So yeah, all drivers, long pants and long sleeves!

I doubt I will be able to make the track day. I want to watch, but for a few reasons, I still am cautious about running.

You can do it!

Remember it's not a race. I've never been to the track either (hmmm does that help or not?)

I think you will regret not doing it. It's a school so you can take it as slow or fast as you want. With 2.4 miles and 15 people on the track at a time, we will each potentially have more than an 1/8 mile between us. I'm sure for the novice class, the morning session is no passing and getting used to the track until you are more comfortable to increase your speed.

That's exactly right. You'll actually be pushing the car a lot less that you do in AutoX... it's all about learning to balance the car and pick your lines, and plan ahead... driving fast isn't the goal, and you never have to go faster than you feel comfortable with.

Take my spot. You can always just go out there and cruise around and not push the car.

I am comfortable with my driving, and the others around me. It's just that I need to finish a lot of stuff I feel is necessary before tracking the car again. Some I probably could not finish in time. Last thing I want is something to go wrong with it. This includes new brakes, brake fluid, spark plugs, and the transmisson has gotten jerky.

I think we can scrape together enough pads and fluid to get your brakes done in time, and spark plugs aren't difficult (you only need the $1.50 NGK coppers). Your gearbox will be fine too as long as you shift properly. And if it breaks, you get RA gears.

I have the iridiums all ready, just nervous to do that install.

I already replaced my front pads, just not fluid.

I can do your spark plugs if you want. I haven't yet done WRX plugs, which take a lot longer than RS plugs, but it works the same way. Plus I have FSMs. You have any more excuses about not coming to run on Sunday?

Lucky for you, subarus come with brakes that are too small, which means that there are many people that have done at track between session rotor/pad swaps. With one person at each corner, we could get the brakes totally replaced in under 10 minutes!

Spark plugs...not a problem. This coming from the person whose coilpack assploded as he was trying to remove it. OK, it didn't assplode, really, it just broke. USE dialectric grease!

You're a track rookie. Your car will be just fine. It's when you get better that you start to break/wear out shit.

From the link on the track webpage, it looks like a whole lot of pizza and not much else. What time are you coming up? Bobby and I are leaving around 5pm.

There is not much of anything in Fernley, there are a couple of fast food spots (McDonalds, Jack in the crack) and two truck stops,
