I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me.
Default STS mod questions.

Here are some questions about mods still legal for the STS catagory. If I'm reading the 2004 rule book right.......I think underdrive pulleys are legal for the class, as long as they are for the Crank, Alternator, and power steering. Also It says that Headers as long as they are emissions complient. Any takes or interpretations?

I'm looking for some more torque or low end power while in second gear. Could have used some help today in that area.

I guess as long as you have Nevada plates you can run Borlas. They didn't complain about any of my mods when I smogged in December. So, I would grab a set of borlas and a 2.25" catback. Oh wait, I did.

But thats not why your not running STS right? Just making sure.

I think the pulleys are legal. Scott ran his underdrive pulley in STX, and the rules are 99% the same for all of Street Touring. My mods that bump me out of STS are my clutch and flywheel, the 4 pots (actually the WRX sized rotors; the calipers themselves are legal), transmission mount, and possibly a few bushings and other small bits. Really, you guys are just missing the headers and catback, and coilovers or springs/struts to be pretty well filled out in STS. If you search around you can see some RS STS setups, including one guy that trophied at Nat's last year.

The 2005 Solo rulebook is online on the scca website this year. (You will still need to buy your own, @$20, if you want, and are eligible for, annual tech.)

rulebook
Then you also need to check the technical bulletins (FastTrack archives since I think the Jan 2005 edition) for any updates after the rulebook was published.

Thanks, that was interesting to look at. I'll be pretty darn close to that when all is said and done. Well, except for the coilovers.

True the oilcovers helped Tyson a bunch, but IMO the biggest thing that's helping Tyson so far this season is his driving. He's really out there attacking the course a lot more than he had in the past, and at the same time, he's also smoother than he used to be!

I think Tyson's gonna be in the running for PAX this season... especially since most of us are now getting hammered by the TSM PAX factor!

I've got to agree with scott on this......tyson's confidence behind the wheel with those coilovers is day and night from last year. Tyson...........Kick our asses!!!
