Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.
Default Replacement Rotors...

OK, the choices for flat or sloted appear to be
Stoptech
Rotora
Powerslot
Brembo

Did I miss any?
I know Scott likes his Stoptechs. Any opinions on the others? All except the Brembos appear to be in the sub $100 range...

For some reason, I seem to remember hearing that the Rotora and StopTech rotors are actually from the same manufacturer.

Someone back me up, or correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm ordering pads and rotors for my car tomorrow morning from Tim directly. WRX slotteds are about $150 a pair my price if you want me to add a set for you Dean.

Does Brembo make slotted replacements? I know they make standard replacements but they are expensive and not anything special. Powerslots are awesome but again, $$$.

Scott, I'm not sure about the sourcing for Rotora but I wouldn't be surprised. I'll ask Tim if he knows who supplies Stoptech's rotors.

I think Berndt (Dirty WRX) has the carbotech rotors on his car, Or maybe it was just the pads, I can;t remember from Buttonwillow. Anyway, I've heard good things about their products, but have never used them first hand.

Stoptech would still be my first choice .

Default Ahh, you beat me to it...

Quite timely actually as I am just sitting down at the computer after having changed my rotors. I am giving the Carbotech rotors a try. They are actually DBA rotors that Carbotech has slotted, as I understand. Apperently they were race tested for a full year before being introduced last year.

I have been using carbotech pads for a couple years now, and the price/performance cannot be beat. I've heard people say negative things about carbotech, but I don't think they have been very well informed. You can even call up the company directly and talk to them about what you are looking for. As you can see, I'm a huge fan.

That being said, the rotors are new. I am going this route because the stock rotors don't even hold up for a day of extended track use. I have been hesitant, since I don't want to keep throwing money at stock size rotors if they will never work. However, I have 2 sets of 16" RS wheels/tires, 4-pot calipers, and limited income, so $2000+ on stop-techs and new wheels/tires is a HUGE expense.

I'll be up at Reno, so you can check them out if you like.

Berndt

Tim Who?

Sounds like a deal... I'm in for a set of rotors. Plenty of pads around.

Just FYI, Best prices I've found:
Powerslot $157 shipped
Rotoras $150 + unknown shipping
Stoptechs More than $150...

Tim works at Stoptech. I know him from i-club, been friends with him for a while. If you want me to order your rotors I'll add them to mine.

tangentially:

"There are some who call me........... Tim?"

I buy all my stuff from Mike, here:

http://www.subaruxtras.com/SearchRes...?CategoryID=24

I used to live in Boston, so it was a short no sales tax drive up.

Yeah, but he doesn't get the employee discount at Stoptech.
