Default Good Dirt Roads near Reno

wsup guys,
I'm new to this site, I'm from the bay area and I normally go to I-club. My mom lives in Reno and I'm planning on visiting her this coming weekend. My friend and I want to take our rides off roading, I was wondering if you guys knew any dirt roads around Reno. I heard there was a pretty good one by the Gold Ranch exit. Any other that you guys recommend? Thanks

i found a pretty nice construction site by demonte ranch parkway in south reno that wasnt being used, and got a good 4 inches of mud everywhere but a small patch on my hood.
mud=fun
clean up=sucky

Welcome to the board!

Some off-road trails near Gold Ranch and behind Verdi lead into Dog Valley & up in the hills to Crystal Peak, but right now those are snowed in. A better bet is to go further east or south of Reno.

If you're in town this weekend, drop by the Atlantis and say hi - we are displaying some of our STI's & WRX's in a Subaru car corral on Saturday (all day) and Sunday morning.

Hey man, welcome to the board!

Matt, what's the name of the road we tried to go up last winter? Timberline or something? Out Mt. Rose Hwy before Galena park? That might work if it's not full of F-150's sliding out and blocking everything!

Hahaha! Yeah, Timberline road in Galena. Probably very snowy right now.
