Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.
Default Help! Need to buy/rent/borrow tires/wheels!!!

Ok, I'm headed to Wendover for the Pro Solo, and Evolution Schools, and I just don't know if I have enough rubber on the Azenix 215s left to cut it after this weekend at Winnemucca.

I am looking to beg/borrow/rent/buy some used/new Autocross quality tires(17s) or whels/tires (-04 Bolt pattern) that will clear STI/Stoptech brakes for a couple days just in case.

My only local alternative is to buy some full tread Kumho MXs... Yuck.

RE070s, or Falkens preffered, but I'l take any offers. There is no way without paying outrageous shipping to get anything else here by tomorrow.

I will gladly copmpensate anyone who can help.

Please call or PM me if you can help. I'll probably have to go the Kumho route by This afternoon to be safe.

Thanks for looking, but I am really looking for 225/45-17, 235/40-17, or 245/40-17s.

I know its far from optimal, but I have Kumho MXs in 225/40/18 on Prodrive P1s. They should clear your stoptechs. Tires are fairly new, and have only been driven on the street.

Let me know.

Where was that place that had the last of the 215s? I can't find the link. I'm thinking of shipping a set of tires to Wendover.

Dean, if you can loan me your A-Techs so I have wheels on the car during my tranny swap, I can loan you my Hankooks on those RPF1s.

Of course, I'd rather not go through all of that hassle, plus when Nate re-tunes my car he'll be doing it on wheels/tires that I don't actually race on, but since you saved my day w/ those rims/tires last year, I'm down to help you out with whatever I can do.

The tires are the new Hankooks, full tread, w/ 2 autocrosses on 'em.

Thanks, they want $490 shipped, and that is more than DT has them for shipped.

I'm leaning towards shipping a set of Hankooks to Wendover, or borrowing Scott's.

Dean you could barrow my Azenis 215's. You can check to see if there is enough tread left on them to suit your needs. They work for me right now, and they aren't on the car. They were MikeK's old tire. I'd just need them back after the event, I'm taking off the snow tires.

Teaser: After this weekend, I would say Dean has some new data on tires.

Does that mean my Hankooks got used a bit?

...tell Dean I'm gonna need tires by this weekend... assuming I even get my car back by this weekend.

I'll never tell... And yes, your tires got used. 2 drivers, 16 of 24 runs. Wear, negligible. We'll talk..
