Default EVO2 installed

Figured I'd throw up a little tech for the, you know, 2 other Legacy GT owners on the board. Just a simple catback install, but hey, this is the closest to tech I get sometimes.

Not too many pictures since its pretty straight forward. Just your standard catback install. Slightly different then impreza instuctions due to the dual muffler setup. But, thats really about it

Required tools:
12mm socket and box end wrench
14mm socket and box end wrench
some WD-40 or Liquid Wrench or something to grease those hangers up.

Hardware that comes with the kit:
2 x 12mm bolt and nut + washer and locking washer (Downpipe to Centerpipe pieces)
6 x 14mm bolt and nut + washer and locking washer (Every other connection)

Directions:

Taking off the old catback-
Unscrew the center pipe (but don't completely disconnect) the center pipe from the down pipe.

Unscrew both mufflers from the Y-end of the center pipe.

Pull the center pipe out of the hanger.

Finish unscrewing the center pipe from the down pipe.

Pull the muffler cans off.

Pull the donut gasket off of the downpipe.

Putting the new catback on-
Connect the center pipe to the downpipe, but don't tighten down (it helps to elevate the back end of the center pipe up). Don't forget the gasket.

Connect the hanger and tighten the centerpipe downpipe connection but don't torque fully.

Bolt the Y-pipe to the center pipe. Don't forget the gasket. Make snug, but don't torque fully.

Bolt the mufflers to the Y-pipe one at a time. Don't forget the gasket.

Torque everything down. Start the car *before taking it off the ramps* and listen for exhaust leaks. If you hear some, reposition and re-torque the leaking joints.

Otherwise, enjoy.

This exhaust is very quiet. Barely louder then stock. The guy I bought it from claimed it didn't pass the wife test, but I don't know how that could be. But then again, I'm not married and dont' know how stict the wife test can be

He even welded a resonator in, and it still sounds very quiet to me. I am really happy with this catback.

Likewise, I predict it will be a killer setup.

You can't hear it from your house?

I guess it's not that loud.

My tech question is. Rid you get rid of a cat with this exhaust?

Nay, no cats were harmed with the installation of this exhaust.

Nick, that exhaust is perfect for your car. Very subtle sound, but noticeable. Those cans look hot as hell too.

Me and the wife grabbed some to-go burritos. We live in that area now.
