Default That Michael Jordan commercial...

I think I mentioned this to some of you guys at the meet a few weeks back... it's that badass commercial where kids are re-enacting classic Jordan moments, check it out:

That's a sweet commercial, those moves and shots are dead on. Very very cool

Yeah, the 1st time I saw it on TV I wasn't paying attention closely and I was like... "i don't get it"... then about halfway through it suddenly clicked what I was seeing, so I backed up and watched the whole thing twice.

That commercial reminds me of the good old days before the NBA and WBC merged.

I like it. It reminds me of pure sport. All the BS in sprots today really turns me off. Maybe that's why I kind of like NASCAR, and other motorsports. For the most part, they aren't to full of themselves, and still appear human, both good and bad.

I just can't picture Tony Stewart or Jeff Gordan, or Boris Said throwing down a Jerry McGuire third person line like "Boris Said doesn't go to childrens hospitals, the children can come to Boris Said....", but I have no problem imagining the other U.S professional athletes doing so.

Maybe that is part of the reason I really like the Olympics. With the exception of Bodie Miller, the other athlettes appear to be doing it for the sheer sport of it, not the fame or fortune which with the exception of 2 or 3 sports, there is little or no comercial future in.

Dean I'm with you, except for NASCAR. Of all motorsports, NASCAR is the worst when it comes to avoiding "pure competition". All the political bickering within the sport, the cheating, the late red flags, the cautions that come out for "debris" right when Dale Jr. is about to go a lap down... The only motorsport less manufacturered than NASCAR is Monster Truck racing. NASCAR is *all* about the image, granted they push a squeaky clean image compared to say the NBA, but they're still just as fake as the rest.

I'm not sure it is that fake, but you hit on the key, no matter if they have "bad boys" and "good old goys", they at least appear to still be real, fake or not. The other athletes don't even bother with appearances any more. Maybe that is why NASCAR is growing and other sports are seeing attendance dropping.

I can't even tell you if Hockey is being played professionally any more.

I stoped actively watching/following football when Joe Montana retired, and baseball was in the Billy Martin days... Man I'm old.

ARe you kidding me? If I have to watch one more "dear god I hope NASCAR doesn't fine me so I'm going to give the PC response while making sure to get all my sponsors mentioned" interview I'm going to shoot myself in the face. A "genuine" response would be "yeah, that mutherfucker put me in the wall, so after I got two new right side tires, I made sure to punt his bitch-ass the next time I was near him on track. That fucker will think twice the next time he tries to use me for the old 8 tire pass."

As far as I can remember, only Tony Stewart these days is willing to call it as he sees it. Everyone else is walking on eggshells all the time.

Speaking of Monster Trucks, I stopped by and hung out with the crew for Gravedigger and the new Del Scorcho truck tonight. They were at Del Taco by my house showing off the Del Scorcho truck. I do believe that's 3 years in a row I've hung out with one monster truck team or another. I am so white trash it hurts.

Damn that's funny! It's the exact opposite of that NWA cover JC posted up a few days ago.
