Default Windshield Noise

Hey everyone,

Long time no post, but I'm reading.

When I pull out of my driveway, which as a small incline, I hear a binding sound coming from the windshield, possibly from the windshield not being properly mounted? Could it be that the car is so rigid that the windshield is bending or vice versa?

I now have 600 miles on the car this is not cool.

Franz

Scott's does it too, I thought it was from having strut tower braces though

If anything, a strut-tower brace would reduce the amount of noise from the dash/firewall/windshield area due to less frame movement. On a car like the WRX though, I don't think those braces really do much...

The WRX has a very rigid body... my strut tower braces really didn't made a big difference, but after installing mine, I hear the noise your speaking of.

I remember when my car 1st started making odd noises.... little rattles, maybe some brake noise... The fact is, Subaurs rattle a bit... part of it is due to the terrifically stiff chassis and good suspension, and part of it is due to the cheaper interior build. But you get what you pay for... the engine/tranny/suspension is awesome, and the interior rattles a bit.

Chances are, some of the noises you're complaining about will subside. I had some early rattles that pissed me off in my brand new car, but I've either gotten used to them, or they've gone away as the car broke in.
