Default Squeaking Brakes...

Okay... so my brakes have been squeaking since ive owned the car (1 year) and when i got my tires changed, the guy said the breaks look great, but even on the drive home, they still sqeaked. Last weekend, i went into my dads shop to blow out the break-dust... thinking thats like the only thing that it could be. BUT THEY STILL SQUEAK! We looked at the break pads and they arent even half way worn so... any suggestions? Oh, i drive a MY98 Impreza 2.5 RS. Thanks guys

Do you have all the cheesy factoy backing plates on them, and the funky grease that goes with them? This stuff acts as harmonic dampers to the pads.

Cheap pads seldom squeak. Good pads often squeak. It is the nature of the beast. There are methods to mitiagte it, but never guarentees.

Tells us what you have if you have the brand and model pad, the better. Which Car?

That's as good a reason as any to replace them. For basic driving duties I'd recommend stock rotors and Axis Ultimates (if you don't mind the dusting).
