Default New clutch and flywheel

I could not pass it up M2 clutch and flywheel for $400. Man thanks Phil for the hookup and I will let you know what M2 says when I call them. www.m2performance.com

Dang... Phil's the hookup, that's a great price for some nice parts.

Oh come on....install them yourself....it can't be that hard.

I have't heard much about either of the shops. I hear there are some awsome places in sac.

Yeah, IMO clutch work is never worth doin yourself... there's tons of parts, plus you need a tranny jack, and sometimes you gotta deal with the clutch fluid system... much better to have it done.

I agree...just joking around. Its like if I ever get a T/C, then I would have it professionally done.

No way man!! clutches work the BEST the 1st 10 miles! If they smoke and smell funny, they're working!

I know you personally subscribe to that philosophy after seeing what you did to your car right after you first got it..

Where you there for the "combo-meal" drive? I think it was Matt and I... bombing around in that thing till the clutch, brakes and motor were all venting some sorta stink... hence the "combo" in the "combo-meal". Poor car... luckily my clutch was covered in the pseduo-recall, so I got a new one (which is slipping a lot lately... I think I'm making too much power, lol!)

Don't do what I did... respect the break-in a bit more than me... 'course my car did have like 50 miles on it when I got it, so I *know* the dealership pounded it before I did... that's what I get for buying one of the earliest WRXs off the lot...

I figure my motor's not gonna last more than 80 to 100k miles before it'll need a rebuild... time to start putting away some cash for forged internals! Then, when it goes, I can stroke it to 2.2L and boost that biotch to 20psi! Muahhahahha!

I've been there for the clutch and brakes on that car plenty, I don't think I've ever been around for motor-stank though.

It was just miscellaneous stank... I didn't actually burn anything in the motor...

woops...

I know I smoked mine pretty good on my second to last run of the day, but other than that I was pretty gentle on it. My car has more horsepower than my clutch can handle.. which is good cause dumping the clutch too quickly means I burn the clutch instead of stripping gears.

Hey Guys !! I heard that the WRX 5sp. Tranny isnt the best especially 1st to 2nd so I found out (And you guys would know more about this than I would)that some of that is mainly due to the Poor oil choice from the factory. I also found out that by changing your gear oil to NEO Synthetic Fluids.you cant go wrong and it Improves your Launching and shifting Capabilities ESPECIALLY if "NEO" Is the OFFICIAL Transmission oil of the Subaru World Rally Team  ..For those of us who arent that knowledgeable about this .. Wait.. I think that would only include me .. lol

I'm running Redline Shockproof.... really helps the synchros, but I hear it's not so good on bearing life... I should prolly go to a 50/50 Shockproof/90w30 (or whatever the recommended Redline for the WRX tranny is... I forget).

I'm still looking for a shop that carries Motul... know any? Specifically I want to get some Motul 600 brake fluid. Maybe a bike shop carries it...

I've heard it's on par w/ RedLine and Motul motor oil... but I don't think it's much better than Mobil 1... esp. not at 3 times the cost (or however much more that stuff is).
