No no, I meant anything south of those locales was good. As much hiking as you want ;-)

I just got back from camping on the Yuba last weekend. The campground apparently is always booked, so you have to make reservations. It is called Indian Springs Campground. It is off I-80 West I think one exit before the Grass Valley/Washington City Exit. It was very nice, I had never been there before last weekend. We camped there for 2 1/2 days, and ran across a nice pool with about 7-10 different rocks to jump off of with plenty deep water, a couple of waterfalls, and hiking on rocks for days about 100 feet off of the paved campsite road closest to I-80 in the lower campsite numbers. Very nice campground. The Washington City Waterslides near there are also, very fun if you don't mind hiking on rocks a bit, but hard to explain to get there if you don't know someone who's been there.

Just spent 4 nights at Upper Velma in Desolation Wilderness. We did a lot of Frisbee Golf, hiking and general tom foolery. If you've never tried Tang and Vodka, do yourself a favor and mix up a Nalgene bottle full.

I was browsing past Desolation Wilderness trips and thought I'd share this pic from Lake Aloha a few years ago.

It is a pretty sweet picture though. Makes me want to go back there. I think I was last at Lake Aloha about... 15 years ago now? Ugh.

Any suggestions for a late season weekend camping trip? The closer the better, but I was thinking of maybe going to somewhere on the Yuba at a lower elevation so that it'd be warm enough to go swimming.

Wrights Lake off of 50 isn't so bad this late in the year.

Looks like 47-70*F this weekend there. Is it worth the drive?

I think so, but it has been a while since I've been there. It might be kinda crowded though.
