Cory, just put a 4g63 in it.
Default WTD (Want to do) oil changes and other basic maintenance

Ok mods feel free to delete this if its out of line, or illegal, or flame the hell out of me...

Before the long post:
Sparknotes: If you need an oil change or basic maintenance, pm or call me (number in last paragraph) for a quote. I am more than willing and need some side money as a poor college student.

Hi my name is Robby,
Anyone who is too lazy to change their oil or takes their car to jiffy lube, I will change your oil for cost of oil and filter +10 dollars or a 12 pack of PBR or whatever you choose, just no coors light . I am not an ASE certified mechanic but a few people can vouch for me and my abilities on here. I'm competitent and detail oriented. I can do basic maintenance. For a price just pm or call me for a quote (number posted at the bottom) me for a quote. I am spoiled and have a lift and air tools at my house and am more than willing and motivated to work on anyones car from the club or their friends cars.

The backstory, FWIW I am a poor college student who has access, thanks to my dad, to a ridiculous private facility that has allowed me to work on multiple people's cars in this club and have let them use my garage when asked. I am just trying to make a couple bucks on the side as I am struggling to find a job and need to find some source of income. I am not going to name names on whos cars I have worked on for their privacy, but if they want I would really appreciate a recomendation, but it is not neccesary at all.

Please I have interned at a shop and seen some major mistakes from the 'cheap' oil change places and I garuntee you I will not make them, I am even willing to do easy BS if your in the neighborhood and think of me, I live down in South Reno in the area of South Meadows Parkway. I will post my number in confidence that no one will abuse the privilage. It is 775.846.3372

Sorry for my horrible grammar and spelling, english was never my strong subject

Thanks for the consideration,
Robby

Anyone who wants to call Robby, he is more than competent under a car. He is a great guy, and extremely friendly. I took my car to his house to do my flywheel. It's a job that books for 6 hours. And we got it done in 5 1/2, and that includes our bullshitting and me getting in his way lol. I would be glad to let him work on my car if there were something I didn't feel comfortable doing, or if I would just rather give it to someone to do.

That being said, Robby, I might hit you up for help with my cams when I get around to doing them this summer. I just need to get a 3-day weekend (just in case I break something haha) and all the gaskets and other stuff to replace while I'm in there. I'll let you know, is that cool?

FWIW I would totally trust Robby with my car and I have in the past when we did my clutch at his place. Robby has a sweet garage and he is a cool guy who can bang his head on the lift with the best of 'em!

Ha thanks guys. Yea juice I'm a pro at knocking my head into lift arms, although I'm pretty sure when we did Robbie's flywheel i avoided them the whole time!!

Robbie, cams I have never done, but, with a little reading, I'm sure we can get it done, maybe get cory invloved as well, we will just offer him some fried chicken . A three day weekend is definatly probably a good idea. That might cost you a little bit more than a case of beer though haha.

Yeah I figured it'll cost a lil bit. I might just have a family friend help me out. He's always been into workin on muscle cars and stuff so I'm sure he could help. If not, I'll be down to help a brotha out with a lil cash

Actually when it comes time to do my oil change my might hit you up...I can't do them myself here at my house since my driveway is gravel and I don't have access to a lift like I did in Cali and I have no prob helping out a broke college student...

Awesome! We are getting there. Although I have no idea about the first thing for tuning a car, so even if we did buy it, who would tune it? Hahahahah.

Scott when are you going to bring your beast over to the garage to give it a proper pre/post race inspection? I would love to see the underside of that badboy, if you are willing to show it. I know some people are very secretive and protective about their racecars. I promise I wont touch anything!!!! Also, i would love to hear someone who has much more mechanical knowledge explain some of the concepts and questions I have about your car and racecars in general, while being able to look at what you are talking about.

Well, if I'm back in town before ya'll are done on Sunday. I should be able to fire it up and bring in by. I probably should change the oil too, since it's still got dyno oil for the break-in and I need to switch it to synthetics. I just don't think I've got the time to pick up some RedLine or Royal-Purple between now and then... hell, I'm not even sure what I'm going to run, I just know I'm not going with Mobil1 anymore.

I know we discussed this whole topic not to long ago but can't find it. But I would never mix different manufacturers chemicals like that. You are just asking for trouble since you have no idea what is in them or how they might interact.

I'd stick with one fluid or mix those from one manufacturer as they recommend for some situations like RedLine does for MTL and MT-90, etc...

Lightweight shockproof is still the best compromise IMHO unless maybe you can get your hands on the Subaru Super Special Stuff. (SSSS)

I've always heard good things but I am still a noob, what would be the ticket for fluid then? Regular factory fluid? my car has 100k on it, im sure it needs to be changed and I want to do it with the "good stuff"

Uncle Scotty's mix is equal parts RedLine 70w90(ns?) mixed with RedLine Lightweight Shockproof IIRC. It's not all that crazy of a concoction. Basically it ends up acting like 70w90 with a bunch of friction modifier in it.

I was under the impression from threads like this that it was RedLine, Castrol and Pennzoil... Thus my comments.

Hrm. Well back in 2002 when I did "the cocktail" in my car, it was all RedLine products. Seemed to work pretty well, even. But not any better than just straight shockproof, so now I figure why bother.

It's also got Pennzoil Synchromesh. It went from being loved to being hated. I ran it. It seemed okay, but I felt like a biter for trying something I heard about on the internet without knowing it was safe.

yea we can do brake fluid. Its a pain in the ass to do without one of those fluid extractors but we can make it work.
