Default ATE Brake Fluid Group Buy

UPDATE:
StopTech does not do group buys, so we will be purchasing our fluid from S-Squared... however we expect the price to remain $10/bottle.

You will be contacted via PM regarding the price of your order.

So, I think Kevin is planning on getting two cases of ATE from StopTech, one Super Blue and one Type 200 (gold). That way we'll have both colors. I'm in for a minimum of 4 cans, and will buy more if needed to make the order happen, since unopened cans keep just about forever.

Each case has 10 one liter cans. Once Kevin gets the price from StopTech, we'll split it evenly to a per/can cost.

So here's the shopping list:

2 cases of ATE brake fluid, breakdown:

sperry - 2 blue, 2 gold
MikeSTi - 1 blue, 1 gold (sperry has MikeSTi's money!)
BAN SUVS - 1 blue, 1 gold
MattR - 2 blue, 2 gold
PatR - 1 blue, 1 gold
khail19 - 1 blue, 1 gold
MikeK - 1 blue, 1 gold
TysonK - 1 blue, 1 gold
Total 10/10 blue, 10/10 gold

Additional items from StopTech:

sperry - Axxis Ultimates (02 WRX rears only).
StopTech WRX BBK, red calipers, slotted rotors.

BAN SUVS - Slotted StopTech Rotors (02 WRX fronts & 01 RS rears).
Axxis Ultimates (Subaru 4-pot fronts and 01 RS rears).

PatR - Axxis Ulitmates (00 S2000 rears only).

Who else is in? Let's get all those cans spoken for!

Nice work! All bottles accounted for! Let's get on ordering this Kevin!

I'm getting slotted rotors all around, and my fronts match the WRX rotors if anybody else wants some. I'm also grabbing a set of Ultimates front and rear.

Oh yeah, 1 can of each color for me, for now.

Oh, and officially, the group buy will have to go through S-Squared. I'll give Nate the heads up, I'm sure he won't mind.

Just the rears for now- I'm still making up my mind on the fronts.

You know you can fit bigger rotors under those 4 pots right? I'll be getting the larger (thicker) TWRs when I get new rotors. Thanks for the group buy AFTER I did my brakes guys.

AFAIK I'm the only one getting WRX rotors. I'm only replacing them because I sold the OE ones I got with my old 4 pots and replaced them with used BozzSpeed ones I got in my trade for the 22b 4 pot/2 pot combo. Nothing wrong with the WRX spec rotors.

What is the difference between the blue and the type 200? I found this page after a quick search, but it only shows a difference in price, the descriptions are similar:

http://www.stoptech.com/cgi/Products.cgi

How much of the stuff is required to replace all the fluid in the brake system?

The difference is only in the color. And to completely flush your system, you need less than half a bottle usually.

I'll take 1 can of each. That should last me a while if it's half a can per bleed.

Sweet, I'll take 2 cans. I don't care what colour, just put me down for whatever you need to fill the order.

Not quite... I have RS rear pads and rotors, and 4 pot pads up front. Only my front rotors match the WRX.

Awesome, that was quick! Kevin, can you talk to Nate and get all this squared away before the meet tomorrow night? That way we can collect cash for both the BG and the camping trip! I'm guessing the brake fluid should be no more than $10/liter, right?

Okay, I called the shop and talked to Justin. Nate is out of the shop for the moment. I let them know what was up and pointed him to this thread so I/we should hear from Nate soon.

Awesome! I hope Nate doesn't have a problem ordering for our group buy. I guess we all should make sure to go to the dyno day this weekend.

Well, MattR and I are going now fo' shur... who else is in?

Kevin, do we have a price on the items everyone's ordering? Those people who aren't going to the dyno day will probably have to give you money tonight at the meet.

Working on it. I think it will work out better to have you bring the money yourself to the dyno day at this point. I won't see them before then anyway. Besides, you're spending 80% of this money anyway, so you might as well be the treasurer.

I doubt I'll see anyone between tonight's meet and the dyno day, except for the people that are coming to the dyno day as it is.

Any prices / ETA yet on this? My front pads showed up today and I'd like to do all four corners and the fluid at the same time.
