Can;t wait to see street tire factor...STU dropped like a brick, but I think NESP is the way to go for me. STX also took a hit.

Nice! STU is right in there with STX now, that's more like it!
And it's great to see SM and ESP only .02 or so apart! It seems like anyone running an STi in ESP might want to just come on over to SM for fast courses since the boost alone should make up for the PAX difference! I must say... if I can get a 6-speed in the WRX, and if you STi folks stay in ESP off boost... I may just have a shot at beating you guys in street tire next year!

Catless = modified, I thought?

Street Mod definitely requires a catalytic converter. First I heard of SP allowing you to go catless though. Somebody grab the rules off the link in the member's forum and verify this?

STU is alot sweeter! That'll be an interesting class to watch in 2005. If I had an STi, I'd probably gravitate to this class next year. Anyone remember how to compute the street tire pax factor? |

Okay, looks liek that is legal... "removal or modification of emission control devices" is permitted, and exhaust is unrestricted. Damn you STi guys.

Assuming we're all running Street Tire, here's the STU vs. NESP vs. NSM break down:
STU: + No brake restrictions - highest PAX (.81 - Cat required in exhaust NESP: + lowest PAX (.800) + Intercooler mods allowed + Unrestricted Exhaust - No brake mods outside of pads/fluid (I think this mean no SS lines!) NSM: + No brake restrictions + Intercooler mods allowed ++ Boost mods allowed ++ Hell, just about every mod, 'cept the ALK allowed! - Cat required in exhaust - middle PAX (.815) So, assuming I'm not missing anything... if you have the money to build up a SM car, you should clean up in PAX this year. Of the alternatives, NESP >> STU... but if you've done SS lines, you might be screwed... we need to double check on the brake rules for SP. But if SS lines aren't allowed, and I already had 'em on my STi, I'd just get a reflash and run in SM. And anyone w/o a cat planning to run SM (*cough* Mike), you might want to look into getting a flanged cat insert that you can toss in the car for race days, because the alternative (E-Modified) doesn't seem too good.

Actually it was pax-.027; check out the table.
http://www.renoscca.com/results/2004...%20PAX-RPT.htm I would prefer the multiplier though, it would give the higher classes a better shot against the F/G Stock armies.

Why go from STS (.799) to NESP (.800) if you're in a WRX? Tell Dean he'll have to take off the StopTechs. And I'm pretty sure the lack of a cat won't make up for the lag he'd get w/ a new I/C.
Frankly, WRX == STS or NSM. The only think you gain is the cat-less exhaust in NESP.

STX .795 STU .827 NESP .798 NSM .811 2005 STX .802 STU .818 NESP .800 NSM .815 So everyone got harder 'cept STU. What's important is that everyone's closer together now. Should make for an interesting season in Street Tire this year!

Back to the Nxx competition... I really think that SM is the place to be. Mods are all but unlimited (except for that one cat) and the PAX isn't all that far off from everyone else. The drawback is simply: can I afford to build my car to the rules. There's no reason that my car can't legally put 300awhp down in SM trim... I just can't afford the mods. You NESP STi drivers have the advantage as long as IGT doesn't give me a big raise.
