Default Street Racing Accident, South Meadows and Double R

Driving home from the meet, Eric saw the perfect reason why street racing is bad m-kay.

Anyway, I had my camera on me so I broke it out and started taking some pictures. We chatted with the cop for a bit, and when we told him we were in a local car club that promotes legal racing instead of street racing, we just kept chatting and he stop me from taking further pics. From what we overheard, these two cars were racing at about 90-100mph near the Taco Bell and one car ended up flipping. Two people in the flipped car were taken directly across the street to the Hospital and the other car stopped to help out. When we were there, I think it was sinking in for him just how bad it really was. He stopped bullshitting the cops even, and came clean with what happened. I don't think anyone else was involved luckily.

Anyway, I'll let the pics say the rest...

Tree is missing its top

About 50 feet up the road

something looks off

Seriously guys, this is why we say take it to the track.

Jesus.

Good call on getting the club message out there, too. Bunch of stupid kids, man. We get someone dying in the Sac area almost weekly because of this type of stuff.

High speeds on public roads when other people are around=bad. ESPECIALLY if its not a straight line >_<.

How did he react to the idea of the club?

He said "Thank God" when we told him what the club was about.

It is good to see he had that reaction...now if only the mayor would have that kind of reaction =/ He despises all forms of racing legal and illegal.

In the hospital (luckily right across the street) but I didn't catch the condition. Not DOA though, which hopefully is good news.

Dude wow. Hopefully nobody died. What were those cars? Looks like a Hyundai and Maxima maybe? Why would you race cars like that? Why would you race cars like that on the STREETS? Tragic.

So Eric saw it happen? And the other driver was there talking to the cops with you guys? That's a really busy area, and with people turning out of that shopping center, they are lucky they didn't kill some innocent driver.

Nah, Eric saw the car flipped over and the cops responding. He called me since I was close by and I came over. Since I had my camera, I started taking pics.

Then the cops came and talked with us cause I was taking pics and stuff.

I also saw another car flip on Rio Wranger (south of town by RC Willey). The car head south then hit the middle island jump it across the street and land up side down on the fence across the street.

What kind of cars were they driving?

I saw a mustang that was pulled over on the freeway, late at night, when I was on my way to starbucks... when I was coming home, I saw the same mustang being towed away. I wonder if he got arrested for speeding??

The flipped car is a Hyundai Accent. The other car, which I didn't take a picture of, was an early 90's Accord.

If its not bad enough they were racing in a busy area, they didnt even have cars with some kind of handling. Hyundai!!! Not that its ok to race, but how stupid do you have to be to drive a car not meant to drive fast...fast enough to roll???
