The way out is through
Default FS: A-Tech Erasors (aka MB Motorsports Weapons), 17x8, +42, 5x114.3, 20 lbs, bronze

Okay, since I'm playing wheel whore enabler this week, here's another set of my wheels for sale.

Since I bought those 17x9 Enkeis for my WRX that don't fit due to brake clearance, I thought I should test fit 'em on the SVX. Looks like they're good to go. So, instead of sending 'em back and eating the 10% restocking fee and shipping costs, I'm just going to put 'em on the SVX, and sell the A-Techs that are currently on it. I will be keeping the tires, so these are for sale without rubber.

The wheels are 17"x8" +42mm 5x114.3 PCD. They fit all SVXi and '05+ STIs. At 20 lbs they're not "light", but they're not heavy either for a cast rim in this size. These would be an excellent choice for winter rims on an STI.

The rims are bronze, and in perfect shape, no curb rash, no dings, they're in brand spanking new condition, and they've got the correct hub rings for Subaru fitment.

These wheels sell at Discount Tire Direct for just under $600 for the set. I figure $450 OBO for 'em.

I am very very interested in you testing out how they fit a bit more, you may just have changed how i feel about what wheels will be going onto the SVX. You dont experience any rubbing at all?

I test fit the bare 17x9 rim to the SVX. Since I'm running 255/40/17s on an 8" wide +42, and I'll be putting the same tires on a 9" wide +45's, basically all that's going to happen is that the centerline of the tire will move 3mm closer to the struts, and the sidewalls will be a bit stretched. The tire really shouldn't have any less clearance than it does right now, and since the rim physically clears the struts and brakes, I should be all set.

The 17x8 +42's fit really well, no rubbing w/ 255 Falken ST115's. 'Course I have a very mild roll in the rear fenders because we crammed some 17x8 +38 EVO rims back there as a test. I'm going to guess that the 17x9's are going to be pretty damn close to the struts, and may rub the rear fenders a touch, but that's nothing a little more rolling won't fix.

The real problem will come if I ever lower the car. I have a feeling I'll quickly run out of fender space if the car's even a little lower in the rear... 'course the car doesn't need to be lowered in the rear, just the front in order to even out the wheel gaps.

Anyway, I'm going to try to get those tires swapped from the A-Techs to the RPF1's this week. If everything's rub-free, I should be good to go on selling these wheels.

That reminds me, Kevin, do you have Aaron's fender tool? I may need to borrow that for a little clearance in the rear of the SVX.

I may need it before then due to scheduling the tire swap on the SVX in conjunction w/ the tires for the WRX, unless I just hold off on swapping SVX wheels 'till next week, but then I should be knee deep in hub swap work.
