I take it you have a shorty DP and are looking for a catless midpipe (AKA racepipe)?

Oh okay. I think that's commonly called the rear-pipe. I have a stock one from my 03 WRX if you're interested.

Yes, I'll fix it for you. Again.

Yeah, I need a 3" section as well at some point. The "cat-back" but without the "axle-back" on that diagram.

I'm assuming that is what you are looking for as well.

The rear pipe looks like it would be easy as hell to make since its a straight piece.

If you have an aftermarket DP then you are in to custom made.

hmm.. i doubt it, i have one and it bolts up to stock exhaust nice. and if after markets bolt on to stock DP then it should mount to my after market DP also lol.. that makes sense to me, but idk about everyone else lol..

Your helix DP was custom made and then mass produced. A custom rear pipe can be made and fit just fine. Buy a straight piece of pipe, resonator, and 2 flanges and have a shop weld it together.

You're pretty much the only person around here who defines custom as "not stock" whereas the rest of us understand he's referring to locally fabricated one-off pieces.

I understood what he meant Kevin M. The problem with his thinking is that he thinks a part that is not made specifically by Helix, COBB, Perrin, etc. is going to have problems or be half-assed.

But that's not what you said. You were arguing a purely semantic point that had nothing to do with what he says he wants.

well this is how i see it, i rather buy one from a company that makes them all day long "aftermarket" even though they are custom made (everything in the world was custom made), than me trying to put pieces together out of some pipes.. but its cool that you have your opinions too.. it doesnt really matter to me because its gonna be for me, you can do your own custom exhaust but i dont want to make a custom exhaust..

That's fine. The only reason I posted what I did is to give you another option.

If you're keeping a 2.5" axleback, you don't need a 3" midpipe.
