Ronal Wheels for STI
I know it is probably late for many of you, but I just noticed one of that Ronal, one of the major sponsors of the Audi Quattro club also makes wheels for our Subarus.
And may of them appear to fit the STI in 17"! Oh, they fit the WRX also. http://www.ronalusa.com These are not the Rotas everyone else has. I actually feel kind of bad, because I know the guy who runs Ronal USA and didn't even think to check them out since I so associate tehm with german cars. These are the OEM wheels on many German cars, including Audi. My cool A4 wheels with the black center are Ronal. I can probably hook you up with even better pricing than on the web site if you are interested as I know the guy who runs Ronal USA. By the way, these are not Rice, they are definitely Schnitzle... Personaly, I think the LVs are the best. And the damn attacment engine reversed the ordre on me...

Is it just me, or do the 'turbine' wheels look remarkably similar to the STi BBS?

DK, I have no idea when they started the subaru pattern/offset. The LV 17x8 are 21 pounds. In general these are slightly heavier wheels since they have to pass Germany's TUV standards.
Actually, the R38s, Turbines, have been around longer than the STI BBSs, so maybe it is the other way around. They are actually just a more narrower spoked R28 which has been around for at least 8 years. Boo, you get many more choices for the 1.8t. Sorry JC, the teddy bears are only available in 14s and no Subaru pattern or offset. And Tyson, no reason to powder coat, they will make them any color you want, but I don't know if the R7 comes in the right bolt pattern/offset.

the site says they produce a 18x8 5x100 with ET45 R-7 so that looks like it will work. Plus thay have pic with them on a subaru. And that's really solid they will do em up how you want.

I must be the only one that isn't totally impressed by these rims?
They're just too curvy or something.... The R-38's are pretty decent, but there are plenty of Rotas I'd pick 1st, like the Tarmac 2s, the Battles, the Attacks, the SDRs, and the SubZeros. I'm just a sucker for straight spoked rims I guess. The R-7's look kinda like <='99 RS rims... they might look good in gold. None of the Subaru fitment rims are as cool as the set Dean put on the Audi! Dean, where are the cool rims!?

Mine are the R25 El Carbon with black.carbon fiber centers.
http://www.ronalusa.com/wheels-2002/r25.html I like the Ronals in general. And from a uniqueness perspective, there are fewer Subys with them than the Rotas. That's one of the reasons I like the N1 replicas I have bsides the fact they are very light. The Ronals definetely have a heavier look I think, but that is because they are in general a heavier wheel to meet the TUV standards It don't mean a thing if they don't make you sing... Do Wop Do Wop Do.

I gotta agree with you scott, they are okay, but nothing I would ever buy. Its nice to see other companies making wheels for Subaru, though. No more of this Rota & Prodrive market domination.
