Default Evo IX

Whats the deal, I thought the IX GSR was going to come with all the extras the VIII MRs had. Like the 6-speed tranny, and what not, but mainly the 6-speed. I was at Reno Mitsuishi today and was excited to see a IX, with the MIVECH 4G63, but became angry once I ventured into the vehicles cockpit, and saw the 5-speed shift pattern on the shift knob.

If they make a GSR that's basically as good as an MR, how do they sell MRs?

As I understood it, the GSR was to get the 8 MR goodies (I guess not all of them) and the new MR would have even more goodies.

Even still... the cost difference between the two cars isn't that much... and they're both pretty expensive. I don't think anyone that can afford a regular EVO, can't afford the MR... and who would want to settle?

It's not like the WRX vs. the STi in Subaru's lineup...

Luckily we don't have to buy a car in Reno.

why?

MR is heavier than GSR. 6 speed tranny is weaker than 5 speed. Go figure.
