The way out is through
Default Reno-Fernley Test-n-Tune & Club Trials Saturday 4-29

I just confirmed with the track, there is a test-n-tune this Friday for SCCA members that wish to test for this weekend's Trials event.

$170 for a full day (+$75 for a second driver)
$110 for a half day (+$50 for a second driver)

No need to register, just show up! Assuming I have my car back and it's running well enough to race I plan to be out there on my street tires all day Friday.

You happen to know the cost for Saturday's TT/CT event?

Thanks.

Okay guys, looks like this is the place for Saturday Info....

I just want to remind everyone driving. YOU NEED TO WEAR a long sleeve cotton shirt and long pants while you drive. There will be no exceptions, so make sure you bring the proper clothing along.

Is there going to be registration in the morning? The flyer says that you "must" be registered by Wednesday.

At this point, I'd say most likely, but I have no way of knowing for sure. If you haven't registered yet, I'd suggest getting there very early to try and get added in.

How early?

Will my NASA HPDE count for experience or since this is my first SCCA trials will I be considered a novice?

I'm not so conerned about myself, but what about all of those people who have heard the radio ads, and do not know that the deadline was Wednesday?

It would not look real good to advertise, then turn people away.

Radio ads???

I need to know if I am going to be turned away if I show up in the morning.

What time do we need to arrive to register?

It's funny how nobody at autox said anything about a Wed registration requirement.

Reno-Fernley Raceway has been advertising this week. And in the ad, the SCCA event has been part of the bundle. I ASSUMED (I know not a smart thing to do) that the powers that be in the Reno SCCA front office had some knowledge of this.

I too am curious as to whether or not there will be registration. I would have loved to have pre-registered, but my work schedule varies so much that I just couldn't.

Yeah, I'm sure there are going to be a lot of people who need to register the morning of. I'm not sure why they did/ didn't stress the registration deadline if they are going to stand by it. hmmm. I wouldn't worry about it though. For future reference though, if you're going to plan on attending the events, it helps incredibly for the event planners if you can register early.

jeez guys, the whoel schedule is on renoscca.com

http://renoscca.com/events/2006/04-29%20TT%20Flyer.pdf

Drivers meeting is at 8, gates open at 7, so I'd say get there as close to 7 as possible. Race cars on track at 8:30, followed by Advanced Club cars at 8:50. And so on. Then alternating all day.

I also have some NASA experience, and while I understand that Reno is still growing this program, NASA plainly tells you that if you do not pre-register, then you pay an extra $50 to register at the track. But I KNOW that I can register that morning if I have too.

Please don't take this as complaining, because that is not how it's meant. I would REALLY like to see this program take of here, I just want it to be the best for everybody.

Yes, you are right the schedule IS posted. But it does not say anything about late registration. Just tech.

Well, all I can say is maybe waiting until this late the night before the event is not the best time to try and figure this stuff out. When all the info is not available, all you can do is show up early and ask then.

It's the first time we've (Reno SCCA) put on a trial event at Reno Fernley, and it looks as though a few "i's" were not dotted, that's all.

I just talked to some other people, and we all are under the assumption that there will indeed be late registration. It's too late to call the event master, or else I'd get a definate answer, but I'd suggest trying to get there around 7 AM and speak to registration as soon as you arrive. Honestly, I don;t think there will be a problem.

Apart from wasting half the day with worker changeovers because SCCA is too cheap to hire flaggers, it went well. No accidents, and apart from Kyp Johnson blowing up his engine, no one else had any problems.

It was really interesting to run with transponders so you could see everyone's times after each run group, and watch the times go down as the day progressed.

The weather was perfect for driving, although it got pretty hot in the timing box.
