Is that what the upside down numbers mean!? There was that miata on Sunday #225 that was upside down... thank god they didn't hit any cones, I didn't know how to call it in!

dknv 2003-06-10 08:28 AM

[If the Turbo AWD Master says its ok, its all good.]

ArthurS 2003-06-10 09:41 AM

Okay. I will be 747 STX. I couldn't think of any other number, so that one worked.

Dean 2003-06-10 02:00 PM

How did I get that alias/call sign/handle/whatever anyway?

Sorry, we are going to limit you to 3 digits, so Mole Man is SOL.

For RNP, only the class is supposed to be upside down. Sue got carried away... or maybe I told her to flip the numbers also. Whatever.

The only one this will be an issue for is SS. they can put their's sideways.

Maybe sideways is a good idea anyway... Hmmm

Well, I changed it... but it was you that bought a WRX, Quattro and Stealth... so you have only yourself to blame for the name ;) Sell off your Turbo AWD cars, and I'll change it to something else!

MattR 2003-06-23 06:33 PM

ArthurS 2003-06-24 09:12 AM

I think that it would be cool to all meet at the Flowing Tide. Its a really nice place.

Oh yea, and I am there this weekend. Going tomorrow to get the numbers on magnets finished. 8)

MattR 2003-06-24 04:59 PM

STIwish 2003-06-24 11:26 PM

IM GOING!! IM GOING!! IM GOING!!! okay, enough caps... I shall be there this weekend... *does a happy dance* it was either go pick up my exhaust in the bay area or go to Reno and race.... easy decision.. i ordered my exhaust AND will be going to Reno... yeah baby.

dknv 2003-06-25 08:32 AM

For those who aren't on the renoscca e-mailing list, following is an excerpt for this weekend's events:

This weekend we have Reno points events 9 and 10, the "biggest little autocross" hosted by John Riggs Jr. and III. Besides a course that will surely prove to be fun and challenging, after both the morning and afternoon run groups on Saturday we will have a 16-driver challenge and runoff. The 16 drivers with the closest raw times will be entered into the challenge, with prizes for the winners as well as some additional awards.

After the event on Saturday, the Riggs will host a happy hour at the Flowing Tide Pub (on 10580 N McCarran, near 7th st.). Anyone who wants to come is welcome.

ArthurS 2003-06-25 08:40 AM

Sweeeeet. I should go add my email to the list at some point.

ArthurS 2003-06-26 11:54 AM

I am supposed to go pick up the magnets for my car today, but need some suggestions on sizing. How long and tall should the numbers and letters be?

Also, the lady making them for me thought it would be cool if they were color changing..........is that legal?

Usually chrome and color changing numbers are illegal.

Dean 2003-06-26 02:37 PM

Actually, I answered this in a an earlier event thread i think, but here it is againa:

If you want to read it, it is section 3.7 of the rule book, but here is the jist.

Numbers:

Minimum 8" tall, 1.25" stroke(line width). 900 point should meet this requirement in most fonts.

Class: Rules just say class shouls be smaller. I would suggest 6" as a minimum.

Uniform color, and in contrst with the color of the car. So Color changing is probably out...

Hope that helps.

STIwish 2003-06-26 03:33 PM

They give you the paper numbers correct?
