Don't forget harness pads, or you'll have a nice matching pair of welts on the sides/back of your neck!

Best deal on harness pads is Walmart, or ebay...

I have run a Scroth 4 point for over 4 years. Good stuff.

Since I'm tall and I was a bit worried the back seat lower buckles might not be back far enough to have a < 45deg angle, I got the Rallye 3 that attaches to the c-pillar. Been using it for 2 years, works good.

Austin (AtomicLabMonkey) has the Rallye 4 in his Mustang.

Both are good harnesses, and the only ones that are DOT legal.

I'd like to thank everyone that showed up with readable numbers and class, and encourage those of you who had paper or tape to spend a couple bucks and make or buy some for the next event.

Tripp Plastics has 24" wide rolls of white magnetic vinyl that you cut easily with a good pair of scicors, or xacto, or utility knife. I think it is under 10 bucks per foot, maybe as low as $7

Print out some 900 point font numbers and trace them on and cut them out. Class letters can be smaller.

I'll check the rules tonight for exact figures. I'm pretty sure the numbers have to be at least 8" high, and 1.25" stroke (width of the line the numbers are made from.

Yeah, sorry about the world's smallest "STX" logo... I only had some scrap material left over from my 04 NSM magnets. They'll be bigger for the next event...

How late's Tripp open, and where are they located?

I just used the temporary #'s provided.

So can I just pick any number I want now? As long as someone else doesn't have it? Do I have to let someone know which one I pick?

Reno members get priority on numbers, and as long as no other member running in your class has that number, you can have it. We reccomend 2-3 digit numbers.

If you want to read it, it is section 3.7 of the rule book, but here is the jist.

Numbers:

Minimum 8" tall, 1.25" line width. 900 point should meet this requirement in most fonts.

Class: Rules just say class shouls be smaller. I would suggest 6" as a minimum.

Tripp Plastics is in the book, but are in the retail strip east of terminal and Mill on the south side of Mill.

I also forgot to mention that Summit has Spray vinyl dye in a bunch of colors that you can use on the numbers after you cut them out, or be real fancy and stencil them on the sheet.

Please use a contrasting color. Yellow on white, or navy blue on black are bad choices.

For some reason, probably due to a venturi effect or something, big sheets blow off easier than individual cut out numbers and letters.

You can also buy pre made numbers and letters on-line. do a google search, or check out Grassroots motorsports magazine. Tons of ads in there.

So, I am a Reno Member, so could I use the number 747 STX? I don't think anyone else has that one right?

Yes, you can be 747. What, do you think you are a wide body or something? You relize the objective is to stay on the ground, not take off... 8^)

Sure, be 3.14, just make the decimal point very small, and keep the spacing between the numbers the same, so most people don't notice. They might think you are prone to spinning though.

I haven't seen the Michael's material, but the Tripp stuff appears to be holding up well. I think I've ben using mine well over 2 years now.

I did hear a good idea over the weekend. To keep them from curling, keep them under your floor mats. I always try and put them on the roof for a while before I put them on to warm them up and make them more flexible.
