But the fact that the speed matching feature isn't elaborated upon does lend this riddle it's appeal. The fact that the term, "speed" is not defined is the key to this riddle. If the wording of the riddle went into details about what type of wheel "speed" we're talking about here, most would note that is where the key to the riddle lies.

But I'm not sure that you and I agree about the outcome if the terms are defined the way I think they are. You're still thinking in terms of realistic constraints.

I mean if the wheels can't slip and we're talking about the speed of the outside of the tires and the speed of an infinnitely precise conveyor belt, would you still maintain that a normal plane would take off without violating the speed constraints given (RE: speed of wheels is equal to speed of conveyor)?

I love how Dean bumped this 2 year old abortion of a thread and then is just sitting back sipping on a blue squeeze-it watching the posts fly.

He bumped it due to the Mythbusters episode that aired last night.

That doesn't justify anything. Dean if you can hear me... I think you need to start working again.

I see it as more of like the pie eating contest in the movie "Stand By Me". Dean just restarted the chain reaction...

As an owner of a magical conveyor belt...

I bumped for a fair reason and specifically did not comment as I had made my opinions clear many moons ago which Cody proceeded to quote.

Austin had every opportunity to lock the thread.

I also chimed in with two other perfectly good "will it take off" scenarios, showing my age as all but handful of the readers have ever heard of SCTV and Bob and Doug McKenzie.

And the landing gear snaps and isn't that the new STI are the correct answer and the real question. :P

There was nothing left to do. All the bowling alleys had been destroyed.

The mythbusters episode was cool. I like how the pilot didn't think it would take off. Jamie seemed annoyed with the whole thing. haha The cockroach thing was interesting too. Guess they will survive when we nuke ourselves.

Oh.
My.
God.

I obviously haven't been checking in often enough because another page & a half of ridiculous debate spawned in my absence.

USE YOUR BRAINS, A REAL AIRCRAFT WOULD TAKE OFF.

We're done here.
