As I understand it, tuning is a highly subjective art. The tuner has to make many judgement calls to balance safety with performance. He has to take into consideration the current environmental...

Having those maps wouldn't do you any good in their current form. They're digitally "signed". The question is, can they be "unlocked" or "ported" to another tuner.
