Holy crap that mag blue is cool looking. Not that I have anything that would look good in it, but it's pretty crazy nice looking.

it's actually a "patented" color by Volk. But lucky for me I'm with a supplyer that has the mixture. It's a very popular color for sure.

Have you done a wrinkle red? Matches Subaru STI intake manifold?

What is your normal turn-around time?

Can the ceramic coatings take the heat of a pre-turbo exhaust (up to 1600F)? What color(s) does it come in?

yes I do have wrinkle red. Normal turn around time is 4-5 business days depending on the part. Cermaic coatings can take up to 1800 deg, but the colors are very slim. White, black, silver, chrome.

It depends on the coating used and the caliper. I probably wouldn't do it on race brakes that see 800F... but most people probably never get their brakes over 300F - 400F, and certainly not for extended periods of time.

Those brakes have been daily driven for around 3 months now, and still hold the same color and no cracking/chipping. The powder i use can take up to around 750-800 degrees as it is already!! Most people are afraid of doing calipers only because the piston and seals inside. But i just let the customer sign a waiver, stating that it may pop the piston and seal if not takin out prior to the coating.

and you both have a PM

Do you have to take the old paint out first? Sand Blast? How much per Ft for just a basic neon orange?

Does that include taking the old finish off?

I'm sorry, wow I thought I wrote you back. I'll check right now though.

for the go kart I would have to measure it and we would go from there.

yes all prices include stripping the old paint off as well as preping. If it needs to go with a more in depth stripping there's more options for that as well. But most don't ever need that.

Picking up some exhaust manifolds that are ported and polished. How much to get them thermal coated? Do you recommend getting the stock midpipe coated too? Just the outside right? Should I drill and tap for EGT probe before or after?

I don't think there is any reason to coat a cast iron manifold. Put the heat shields on and be happy.

You can buy the same stuff Grimmspeed uses in a can. Spray it on, then run the car through a few heat cycles to cure it. The exhaust itself gets plenty hotter than an oven.

Interesting! I'll have to look into that. Thanks. It can't hurt to do the midpipe right? I mean worst thing that will happen is it will flake off. I assume doing the inside of any of the pipes is a really bad idea cuz if it flakes off, it goes into the turbo and then the motor.
