K-sports makes a tarmac version of their coilovers (same housing stiffer springs, different damper rates i believe) $1200 ish ? My pillow ball mounts are just now starting to make noise, and i've driven on them soo hard. Car has been jumped at least a dozen times. Cory's and Kevin's coil overs are awesome, btw maybe look into them? If i can find a good enough deal i may be buying SPT-pink STI coil overs (only using the dampers) I'll have some STI pink springs and top hats you could buy off me maybe mate those with the tokico Dspecs ? (not sure if they would have enough dampening for those) | |

What do Cory and Kevin run? The D-specs should be able to handle pinks. RCE designed the yellow springs after the pinks but with a firmer spring rate. I haven't heard anything wrong about the D-specs, yet, but it does seem like a lot of work for a rigged up suspension, plus it is close to KW price. |

Cory and Kevin Run Tein Flex coilovers, as does Nick H on his LGT.

Nice, that's exactly the size/offset wheel I hope to run with 245/40/17's some day. Let me know if you ever want to sell them. I would definitely like to test fit them after I roll my fenders.

If you want, you can stop by and try on the Volks as a "worst case" scenario. 245/40 RE-01Rs on 17x8.5 +52. I have tons of spacers, so you could use them to figure out exactly what your maximum offset would be to fit a similar setup.

Yah, I bet 3-10mm of spacers would be necessary given that width and offset. And don't refer to yourself in the 3rd person. It's creepy.

If I recall correctly, SS doesn't come with top-mounts, (I.E. no pillowball mounts, no camber plates. You just re-use your stockers, or find some others.) and doesn't have as much fine tuning available for the dampeners, (16 way vs. 32 or something on the Flex's). I also think the SS kit does not have separate ride height and spring pre-load adjustment. Flex does.

There are more mature, better respected companies and better engineered products IMHO. And that price is a tad high.

First I've heard of Zeal Function products being "underengineered." Anything specific you can cite Dean?

Huh...I've been browsing NASIOC and haven't heard anything bad about ZEAL...I don't think the price is too bad. 950 doesn't seem too unfair plus I was going to offer him 850 and drive to Cali and go pick them up. And 20K; does that mean they will need to be rebuilt?

Zeal makes decent stuff, but it's overpriced for what you get because it's so "mad tight JDM" like Cusco, Gready, HKS, etc. Personally, I'd rather have those used Tein Super Streets for a fair price (like $600 IMO) than Zeals. It's not like you're going to be racing in a JCTC grand prix any time soon in your WRX.

Or wait 'till a set comes up on NASIOC at a lower price. Either way, buying Zeals when you've already stated you don't really need the adjustability is a waste of money. Plus, they'll probably clunk on you due to the pillowball top mounts.
