I've given it some thought...I want my theme song to be :
"I ran"- Flock of Seagulls. either that or: "Smack my bitch up"- Prodigy

I'm gonna get a boom-box and a trench-coat and stand outside the office playing "Shock the Monkey".

I was thinking along the same lines as P Pixie's feedback -- go to the dental office, ask the receptionist "sorry I forgot when my next appt's supposed to be ..". After you get the info then ask said receptionist "is [hygienist's name] available? because if so I'd like to ask her out". If she's available -- then go ask. |

theme song idea is interesting but it's more effective when you have the attitude to back it up. Bad to the Bone would be good for a biker (and more than dental hygienists think they're cool), who's wearing the leather jacket, leather boots, maybe has some tatoos, and saunters into a place w/supreme confidence. James Bond theme - I don't think you have to have the car, but do be smooth. Turtleneck, dress pants, leather shoes, drinks something sophisticated, not beer. So, grab a theme song that matches who you are -- or grab a theme song and adopt a new personality to go with it.... |

Lines are no good. But - I did like Mike's line, that one made me smile -- and as was already said if you make her smile, you've got an in. Cars won't necessarily impress unless 1) girl is into cars or 2) its a delorean or a ferrari. If 2 -- well you know the type. Tyson, if you want to beat off women with intercooler hoses -- you might be in for some interesting women! |

I do agree that lines are verry much lame but Iv'e always found a way to blend them with my personality, making them verry affective, for instance walk with unique style and say how' "U" do'in like Joey, the lovable guy for the show friends, with a nice smile and it instantly reminds them of a nice one night-stand or a great relationship that can start from there and will deffinatly make them smile thats always the key!

If you get beyond that, then from a logistics standpoint maybe you'd get sympathy if she double duties as the dentist's assistant. Otherwise she may never know you're there. |

Speaking of which, my recent dental visit found a cracked filling. Gotta go get that refilled (or crowned) sometime soon.
Now, if I only had a hot dental assistant

Hey Perry,
You know me I couldn't resist this thread. Congrats on the break up! Is it for real THIS TIME? Anyway, you know how much I hate lines, but if you gotta use one go with Mike's suggestion. The laugh-to-creepiness ratio on that line is higher than most so its o.k. Still, YOU DO NOT NEED A LINE!!!!!!!!!! Just go for it and be yourself. Find something you want to do, like try a new restaurant, got to a movie, etc. and just invite her along. I know it seems way to easy and simple to be effective but I am tellin' ya' it works. I know, it worked on me. |

For the record, I don't really have any major issues asking women out... the real problem is finding a pool of women to choose from. There's really none at work (plus I don't want to date a co-worker), and there's none in SECCS (save Debbie, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me "that way" ), and that about wraps up my social scene. I started this post mostly for fun, not as a cry for help! You guys are gonna give me a complex! To be honest, I'm not really interested in my higentists... she's just hot. I don't know a thing about her, and I'm not really interested in going out on awkward 1st dates with women that I have no knowledge about. I just got out of a relationship with someone that I had no common interests with. What I really want is to meet women that I'm sure I have something in common with... you know like race chicks or hot computer nerds... Where are all the car tuning, database programming, cartoon watching, non-psycho, hot chicks (preferably blondes that are a little freaky in the sac)? If you see any, leave a SECCS card on their Subaru!

Re: My dental hygentist is hot
Okay I guess my point was that this thread has become a "let's tell Scott how to pick up women" thread... while what I really need is a "Let's tell Scott where all the cool women in Reno are" thread.
