Oil Catch Can Is A Must
I thought for the longest time that my catch can was doing nothing..... Well today I firgured I would take a look and see just how much was in it sence I could not see anything in the tube..........
and to my suprise there was atleast an inch of blow-by at the bottom of the can :shock:

I also saw a lot of gunk in the lines where it looked like the oil was heat cycled a few times and turn a yellow sappy stuff :?

It looks awful clean... Are you overfilling your oil? I wouldn't think oil with even 100 miles on it would be that clean.

i use the dealers oil :? all i know is somthing is in the can
i really started woundering when i pulled the ic and found a decent amount of oil near the intake manifold. i know that i'm still getting blow-by from some where and think i need a second can or add a tee into the other location

Where are you plumbed to for your can? Might want to check your oil before you leave their lot next time...

it was installed the way Perrin instructed, but I think I might add one more conection so I can get it all

I think I should check mine too! :shock:
Also, I'm plumbed as in the 1st picture. I always wondered how the "better" way was supposed to go. My only question is what happens to the other side of the new hose... there's now an open tube to the intake!

that person blocked the hole as the air was just going back to the same spot but different location. I also think it the same inlet that was deleted from the Perrin Turbo Inlet Pipe?

If you didn't want to block the hole you could run another tee off the return side to go back to it or get another catch can so each has a single job and you would know witch one was getting more blow-by

Need some clarification here. Not sure if Boxer engines are different than other configurations..
These are on crankcase and/or valve cover breathers, right? Blow by is only a potential contributornot to oil entering these passages, right? It is/can be thrown there by internal moiving parts and manifold vs. case pressure differntials can move it during normal operation, right?
