Default FS: 1995 Ford Mustang GT

I realized I posted this on some other boards but forgot to put it up here too. Most of you Subaru guys probably wouldn't be interested, but if you know anyone that might be, please let them know.

1995 Ford Mustang GT, 5.0L, 5-speed, with 106,000 miles, located in San Luis Obispo, California. White exterior, tan interior with leather seating. Power driver seat. The car was garaged for most of its life, except for a ~2 year interval.

It gets up and moves when you press the loud pedal, is very fun to drive, and handles quite well. 1994-95 5.0L cars typically have lots of problems with knocking and pinging due to their EEC programming; this car has a TwEECer and I have modified the programming such that it has no more problems, even running on 87 octane.

These pictures are a couple of years old, but the car's appearance hasn't changed much since then.

The paint is still in good condition, except for a few normal small chips from highway road debris. Two notable exceptions are a scrape on the LF bumper/fender courtesy of my wife, and an outward ding on the LR (something knocked against the sheetmetal while transporting it in the trunk). It's not perfect show car paint, but overall still looks pretty good.

The car is fairly extensively modified - here cometh the list:

Chassis/Suspension:

MM 4-point K-Member Brace
MM Strut tower brace
MM Standard Length subframe connectors, powdercoated black
MM Caster/Camber plates
MM Front coil-over kit
MM Aluminum Steering Rack bushings (center drilled)
2.5" dia., 325lb/in Hypercoil springs front
Bilstein Heavy-Duty valved front struts (V36-4138-H1)
Urethane front LCA bushings
Urethane front swaybar pivot bushings
Urethane front swaybar endlink bushings

MM Standard Rear Lower Control Arms
MM Panhard Bar
MM Standard Duty Torque-Arm
MM Weld-in Adjustable Rear Swaybar (7/8" x 0.188" wall torsion bar)
MM Rear coil-over kit
2.25" dia., 225lb/in Hypercoil springs rear
Bilstein Heavy-Duty rear shocks (BE5-6418-H0)

Brakes:

Baer Racing "Track" front kit; 13" rotors, 2-piston 38mm calipers, Stainless braided flex lines (calipers recently cleaned out and rebuilt with new seals & dust boots)
Stock proportioning valve gutted, and manual valve plumbed into rear brake line
Front Hawk HPS brake pads (for PBR calipers)
Rear Hawk HPS brake pads

Engine:

Edelbrock Performer 5.0 Upper & Lower Intake manifolds
Edelbrock 94-95 Specific Elbow Adapter for manifold
Edelbrock/BBK 65mm Throttle Body
Ford Racing 24 LB/hr fuel injector set
Ford Racing shorty header set, stainless steel
Bassani X-pipe with catalytic converters
Edelbrock cat-back (with turn-downs out of mufflers)
STKR TwEECer module installed on stock T4M0 EEC-IV engine computer
Fluidyne radiator
A/C system has been removed forward of the firewall

Drivetrain:

Ford Racing 3.55 ratio ring & pinion
Ford Trak-Lok rear differential rebuilt & tightened at time of R&P install, at ~90,000 miles
Dallas Mustang Speed Cal unit (to recalibrate VSS/speedometer accurately)
Pro 5.0 Shifter
MM Clutch Quadrant
MM Firewall Adjuster
MM Ford Universal Clutch Cable (heat shielded)

Miscellaneous:

Brand new Ford Cobra model clear headlights, recently installed
Optima red-top Battery relocated to the RR corner of the trunk, in UPR battery box
Ford Racing 1998 Cobra 17x8 wheels

The car is for sale at $7900 USD, o.b.o.

No trades of any kind accepted. PM me to get contact info. Thanks!

So you're back to selling it? I thought you decided to keep it, since I didn't hear anything the 1st time you listed it.

PS: You should take some new pictures, especially of the new headlights.

Hey Dean, isn't that the car that showed up to an Autocross and whooped your monkey ass in Street Mod, triggering you to ditch the Stealth and build the WRX into your race car?

What's that saying? "You can always have another one." "There's always tomorrow." (I know what you mean though. It's been 20+ years and I still miss my mustang II.)

It was great fun to have for the last few years and I have a lot of memories tied up in that car, but I doubt I will ever own another Mustang. They just have too many deficiencies; I don't want to have to modify another street/auto-x car as much as I did this one. If I ever go back to a domestic V8 sometime in the future, it will probably be in the form of a Corvette.

The last pictures I ever took of her...

I went out that morning and flogged it up Hwy. 9 one last time.

Man, I still remember the 1st ride I had in that car... back when it was still your Dad's. It still gives me goosebumps to think about the sound of the exhaust, and way the chassis twisted under the torque just revving the motor. Compared to the Ford Escort I was used to... that thing was a beast!

Hopefully the new owner will kindly flog the shit out of her for you for years to come! That car was meant to be driven!

Better than getting an email like I got after selling some steelies to a guy in SoCal.

"Yeah, uh, who made those wheels? I had one fail at California Speedway and crashed my car. I need to get in touch w/ the manufacturer."

Some dolt decided to track his car on steel wheels... the brakes overheated, which overheated the welds in the wheels, and blammo! Kid get's a nice lesson in physics as he slids to a stop on his front brake rotor.

So, it might suck to hear that dude is enjoying the car... but that's much better news than a "WTF man, the rear suspension came off at Thunderhill, and now the car's totaled!"

Yeah, I was glad to hear that everything was going well. I was totally up front with every little potential issue I could think of with the car, but I was still a little nervous that I would get an upset call later on because he discovered something he didn't like.
