Hey all, I'm looking for oppinions on the best brake rotors for the money. Im thinking slotted brembos or stop techs, but I'm open to input. Thanks for the feedback...

I have a set of Stoptech 328s I'd be willing to sell. One set has brand new rotors...

What year is your RS? (assuming from screen name)

Talk about jumping on the guy!

"I need brake rotors" ($100)

"Buy my $3000 StopTechs!!!!"

I've used DBA rotors in the past (sold through StopTech). They seemed pretty decent. Just steer away from the drilled rotors... there's no performance benefit and a higher chance of failure.

I've had great luck with the DBA Rotors, I love them and they are fairly priced. Also, they sell them through tire rack now so you can pick them up locally.,

Brembo OE replacements on my car, WRX upsize. LOVE them. They're guaranteed to not warp within servicable thickness. If they do, new ones are free. I've beaten the crap out of them, and not the slightest shudder in about 30k.

Available locally as well at Reno Clutch and Brake. Mill and Terminal

Sorry, didn't read that he just wanted rotors... But seriously, if you are willing to spend $400 on rotors, why not $1000 on a set of real brakes!

Otherwise, Señor Cheap Bastard says $380 is a rip off. I am running the cheapest crap I could find on froogle or ebay ($300/set delivered front and rear for '04 STI) and tracking the snot out of them with race pads and they are holding up great!!! There are only about 5 places in the world casting Subaru rotors and nobody has a magic formula for steel. Go cheap or get raped!

Thats what I'm picking up this week. I have front WRX brakes for my L, brembo blanks like $101 at tire rack, super blue for $12 a bottle too. I ordered axxis ultimate pads off of nasioc for $55 shipped. I'm giving dean a run for his cheap title

TireRack's not so "local" anymore... they moved their warehouse out to Mustang or some crap... no more Sparks pickup.

Hey, i have a set of stock wrx brake rotors laying around if you want them. I know you are looking to upgrade, but just thowing it out there if you needed an immediate fix. Anyway i have used DBA, and Centric rotors and i liked both of them. I don't really track/auto-x my car very much, but in terms of every day driving and street use they are both good, and affordable. Just my 2 cents.

well thanks for all the input guys! i guess i'll just have to shop around and find the right price! so while we are at the brakes... lets talk about something close to them: my blown struts!

so the 2 years on s-techs/stock struts have left my struts very sad...so its time for some newbies, how does everyone feel about the AGXs with my stechs? bueno?

Do a search, I think we just beat the strut question to death a month or so ago.

Winner. If you just need to replace your rotors, the brembo OEs are a good choice. I wouldn't bother with slotting if it's a street car either, it's more expensive and they'll just chew up your pads quicker.

They use to be next door to my office. They will be again soon. Our office move to Patrick next month. Another 10 min extra drive but it's 10 min closer to RFR.

I used to have a set of cross drilled rotors. Love the look of it seen a few crack but I only did auto-x in that car.

Well, driving to Sparks from my house vs. driving half-way to Fernley makes a difference to me! It takes me about 30 minutes round trip to TireRack... now it will take almost an hour, which means it's no where as easy to run over there on my lunch break.

I live down South by Damonte Ranch so as soon as we move out to Patrick I can pick up the tires for anyone and bring it back. You just have to let me know a head so I can drive my bigger car the SUV not the S2K.

Cam, if they made AGX struts specific to the 04+MY, I'd probably already have them. I think Jeremy's leaning towards them, as well.

On the subject of rotors, I think that since slotting tends to chew pads up a little faster, a set of plain Brembos would be a decent choice, particularly given that the WRX is just a daily driver right now.

i would have to agree...they seem to be the only viably affordable option at this point, and i have read really good things about them, so i will more than likely pick some up in the near future.

and i do agree with you on the rotors as, yes, my car is a daily driver at this point... however, as i drive kingsbury frequently, im leaning towards the slotted rotors just for some cleaning effect. And also in the winter i suffer from wet brakes from all the snow in tahoe, and i think the slotted rotors will also help with this problem.
