I was just reading about them and the description says that you gain "Pedal feel, pedal stiffness, and increased brake force (less energy will be lost to flex) will all result."
Has anyone installed this? Did you feel a difference?

No meaningful gains on a street car, excellent results on the track, bumps you to SM in autocross. That pretty much sums it up.

Also, most of them are a huge PITA to install, unless of course the motor is out of the car already.

I gots the cusco one. yeah i felt it. took all of 10 minutes to install. I dont autocross but I can feel it in the pedal when its on and off. just stiffer and less play throughout the range of motion.

worth is a completely subjective term.
Id say its worth more than a front strut bar. However fender braces are probably worth more than the master cylinder brace.

Do you already have SS brake lines? If not, I'd do those first.

It makes a definately noticable (but not profound) difference on a WRX. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't some MS braces make it so you have to relocate your fuel filter on a WRX?

Your lines must not have been very mushy when you replaced them. I did mine around 79k, and it was night and day! I had gotten so used to the mushy-ness, every time I hit the brakes, I nearly smashed my face into the steering wheel.

![]() I will have to look into brake lines I guess. Are all ss brake lines the same regardless of who makes them? The reason for this thread was just because I want to do whatever I can to improve pedal feel with clutch/brake/gas. The description of the brace made it seem like it helped with that. Thanks for all the reply. My clutch should feel great now that I'm replacing it. I bought my clutch/flywheel for dirt ass cheap - Exedy stage 1 organic and flywheel for $599. Now I need to get some cash together for install. ![]()

Stoptech makes pretty good lines. Goodridge work too but they don't put a sleeve on the outside, so the braid can cause wear if it touches the strut or anything in the area.
