Deal, did somebody say Deal? Oh, Dean, yeah that's me.
Default Track and Shop Tour this Saturday Oct. 20.

In case you haven't seen it on the RenoSCCA mailing list, the club is going on a tour of a couple race shops and more importantly going to spend about an hour going through different configurations out at Reno-Fernley raceway.

This should be a great opportunity to check out the C&C and Benson brother' shops as well as get a fell for RFR especially if you haven't done any PDX or track trials events.

The Tour's starting point is C&C Automotive Specialties, 820 E. Greg St. in Sparks. Start time is 9:45 a.m. From there we'll be going to Reno-Fernley Raceway for an hour of lapping the road courses behind a pace car, followed by a visit to Benson Brothers Racing in Mound House. There'll be food and beverages at C&C and BBR, and it's all FREE and open to non-members as well as members. And, you don't need a helmet or other equipment.

Still have questions? Contact Jim Gandy at (775) 267-1183 or jrgandy@peoplepc.com.

This sounds like the first tour event that I've actually been interested in.

Too bad I'll be in Laguna Seca this weekend.

I'm going to go to C&C in the morning, but that's all. The weather is going to suck tomorrow.

I probably am.

Sue's coming up for it because she hasn't been on RFR since it grew a top section and for the heck of it.

Charge up your FRS radios.

You missed a good time. It was pretty fun.

We hung out at C&C for a while talking about engine and chassis dynos eating bagels, fruit and donuts.

the it was off to RFR. We spent almost an hour on track running 3 laps each of 4 different configurations at relatively fast pace speeds.

Then down to Benson Brothers in Mound House. They have a nice new shop and a great lunch spread including smoked tri-tip, sushi, shrimp, etc... and we talked about fabrication work including cages and such. they are also doing custom fiberglass and paint work. Art Majors has a cool new hood and a great ducted oil cooler setup you got a great look at because it was up on a lift. They are in the middle of building a GT Mustang, very cool.

Good day. ( I data logged the whole day, so I have 3+ hours of data. not race laps, but some good freeway and moderate track laps to dig through. )

After the laps at RFR my son got hungry so we grab a bite from the Trailer. Because it was cold and windy outside so we went inside to eat. Finish the pork sandwich, came outside and everybody gone. I only know the shop is some where on 50 close to Carson City. Bummer we just went home.

My son love the ride on the track.
