Two questions:

What's that lip made out of?

Can you get it without the carbon splitter? (I need a much bigger one, and I need one that's made out of a cheap material because it's gonna get trashed at the track.)

Maybe they can Source some Tegris for the splitter. It is what the new NASCAR splitters are made out of and are showing incredible durability at low weight.

I was just going to use a sheet of whatever that stuff is that Greg Benson uses on all their splitters... it's like a sheet of delrin or something... I'm not quite sure what it's made of, but it's light and stiff and looks like it can take a beating.

I wonder what material Ray used on the Kaminari car's splitter:

EDIT: Just talked to him. It is sheet aluminum, but he is going to remake it out of CF. He also mentioned maybe one of the harder polyurethane.

Yes, you can get just the lip, and make your own splitter. I would use what Ray used, like aluminum, or get some othe hard material that is somewhat lightweight.

I think aluminum would get bent up way too much at RFR. I need something I can bounce off the curbs that will retain its shape.

I'm a little bit hesitant about that '02 lip though, due to the big hole in middle... that sort of counters the whole point of a splitter if the air can flow through there... and it's too low to stash an oil cooler behind there, as I would probably hit it on the ground or at least on the trailer trying to load the car up.

Do you have something like the '04+ lip for the bugeye?

Hell, what I really need is a easily removable (Dzus fasteners) FRP complete front bumper with a 2" tall lip and a 3" deep splitter. Oh, and a mild wide-body to fit 17x10 wheels. But I don't want the car to look like it's got a bunch of bat-mobile aero all over it. I like the way the car looks from the factory, I just need some aero help and room for tires. No one seems to make anything like that... 'cept maybe the WRC kits for the car, but their wheel arches are for rally clearance, and not the best aero around the wheels on a road-race car. Plus, they have to be shipped from the UK.

We made our own at MM. It was like 3/16 or 1/4" plywood, I can't remember which, sandwiched (bonded & riveted) between two thin layers of aluminum sheet. It takes a little labor to cut out & put together, but was fairly cheap. Making a composite piece like that gets you some extra stiffness/weight.

Whatever you use, make sure it ain't too expensive.. because they get torn up often.
