Thought it might be a skid plate extension. After some research, it looks like the Rally Innovations skid guard, but I don't see one for the '04+. It doesn't appear to do much for the STI's drooped side lips though which is what I keep tearing off.

It is a skid plate from Rally Innovations. I believe Aaron and Paul from DBTuned are sporting prototypes for the 04/05 version.

From what I can tell from their other skid guards, they just cover the lip. They are not a true skid plate covering motor and/or tranny.
