Historics at Reno-Fernley & Vintage Rally (Demo) Downtown this weekend

There will be a vintage race car rally in downtown Reno Thursday to preview the Sixth Annual Reno Historic Races Friday through Sunday at the Reno-Fernley Raceway. The rally down Center and Virginia streets will showcase vintage race cars, including a 1956 356A Porsche, a 1965 Lotus Super 7. a 1952 Jaguar XK120 and a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette.

It begins at 4:30 p.m. at the National Automobile Museum and ends at the West Street Market after circling downtown streets twice. The historic race cars will be parked along the east side of West Street until about 7:45 p.m.

There will also be a Reno Envy fashion show at the West Street Market beginning at 9:00 p.m.

The races this year feature five race groups with nearly 100 world-class historic race cars including Ferrari, Jaguar, Porsche and Corvette.

The races are from Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 and include all three days and can be purchased at that National Automobile Museum. For more information about tickets call the museum at 333-9300 ext. 319.
