I think the mechanic farted in my seat at lithia last time...does that count

Anyway, It's in at Lithia again today to get the tumbler valve sensor thing replaced... Also, I discovered I had a very low tire this morning...lovely,,,a sharp screw appears to be the culprit...I aired it back up for now...seems to be a very slow leak.

As long as it's not in your race tires... you should be fine to just get it patched up.

Lithia fixed a slow leaking tyre for me for free once, let them know about it and see what they do.

So it's almost the end of day 2...I don't know if I'll have it back today or not ...They didn't realized how involved the change was..

Anyway, is it a bad sign that I had a dream last night about my car falling off of a mechanic rack and getting totalled? It can;t be good...

Anyway...Looks like another day in the Dodge...(hit it!).

DAY 3...My pit crew is letting me down The car is all put back together, and upon firing it up, they said there is a manifold pressure leak, caused by a damaged injector seal. I guess the mechanic fuxored it up at some point in the job.

So, New injector seals are on the way, as they have none in stock...I'm told I should have the car tomorrow. I'm not upset at all, I'd prefer to have my car back, but I don;t mine putting miles on my sister's truck instead of mine.

Maybe I'll never get my car back.who knows.

Ugh... all this for what's probably and unecessary repair? I hope they're not "ungifting" your motor. That's a lot of tear-down and build-up for guys that never work on STis.

..yet another reason I'm glad my warranty's expired. I can choose my mechanics.

Guess what Matt. I was in Lithia getting my oil changed, and I asked about your car. Ray said your car is being put back together right now, and you can pick it up today!!

He's even ordering you a new strut.

Happy day!!!

I do what I can. Ray was explaining to me what happened to your fuel rail. He said that it got twisted when they were taking off the intake. He said that he felt bad for what happen. He seems like a nice guy.

Haha! He doesn't feel as bad as I do

Ray is the only reason I haven;t gone insanely crazy over this. He is a good guy.

Ray is the man! I was at lithia today for the oil change ceremony. My car is currently throwing a CEL for a faulty EGT sensor ... Ray has arranged for it to be fixed under warranty. They could easily refuse because the sensor is plugged into an aftermarket uppipe, but he said "that shouldn't make any difference to the sensor". Ray makes me want to own another subaru

Haha... what's funny is that it does make a difference... the cat that's supposed to be there absorbs a lot of heat, that now goes straight to the EGT. Ray rules.

Shush you!! It's about time Lithia's service dept. is stepping up to actually serving the customers. When a guy's willing to overlook some things, it means people will be more likely to come in to the dept. for non-warranty repairs as well.

Oh and Mike. a resistor and a bung plug (heheh) would be a better solution for your car. I know I'm cooking my non-functioning EGT to hell bcause I never bothered to just put a plug in there.

Ray has been great ever since he started there. (He had the brake rotors turned for me under warranty because I 'must've been riding the brakes coming down Spooner'.)
Hey Matt - are they replacing a strut because your car fell off the lift?

I would agree with Scott, I would have them just put in a bung, and use a resistor. Nate told me a horror story of the stock EGT probe breaking off and getting sucked into and destroying the turbo... No Thanks...

We should pull mine out and see what it looks like. How much you wanna bet the tip is gone and is wedged up against the cat in my mid-pipe?

When you gotta go... well, it's nice to be borrowing a 300hp car w/ a sweet 6-speed.

I guess it beats leaving a big 'ole brown stain on the blue! OK who's car is now in need of some JDM air freshner?

Eeeww. There better not be a need for a LDM air freshener

On a side bar. My STi is very angry. It hates the cold. I started it up this morning and the engine was idling between 500-2000 rpms it took five minutes before it finally started running normal. The springs are packed with ice, from a little snow adventure on Saturday night. It's so cold they can't thaw, and I can't park the car in a sunny location today. Gehrrr.
