Thats hot. I want one. I don't think I can any longer deny being half-redneck.

That thing may be an abomination, but it's really well put together... looks like they did an excellent job. I bet it wins car/truck shows pretty easily.

The rear bumper says ZR-1. If some asshat destroyed a REAL ZR-1 to make that piece of crap, may he be dragged out into the street and shot!

It's just a badge, the front half is an '84 Vette. They didn't make a ZR-1 in '84.

Still, my point is cutting up a ZR-1 for parts! Maybe it was totalled, and they just scavenged the rear bumper. That would make me feel better.

Urge to kill, fading. . .

Meh.... it's not like the ZR-1 was all that fast anyway. They're just cool 'cause they're rare.

While I can appreciate the work that went into that, the reality of it hurts my heart. Someone hacked up some Vettes.

That and I think it's butt-ugly.

I tend to think a factory built aluminum block 405bhp DOHC V8 redlining @ 7200RPM is pretty cool in it's own right.

Huh? The ZR-1 made like 370hp for like $30,000 (plus the retarded dealer markups) in 1990 dollars! You could have purchased a regular C4, and put a 600 hp NASCAR motor in there for cheaper.

I guess the ZR-1 isn't a bad car considering the era it came from (early 90's), but it wasn't the super-car that Vette people make it out to be. A plain old C5 is faster around the track, not to mention the ZO6's or C6's.

You're thinking of the 90-92 models, not the 93-95. Current vettes could probably whoop up on ZR-1's, but they were pretty badass for their time.

I thought they only made the ZR-1 in '90/'91, I didn't realize they were made for so long, nor did I know they bumped the specs mid-run! Those later ZR-1's look pretty sweet. More importantly, that aluminum 350 would be a sice motor for motor swaps since it's gotta be much lighter than the normal cast iron 350 smallblock.

Not necessarily; it's DOHC whereas the regular Chevy 350 is pushrod. DOHC engines tend to be quite a bit bigger and taller. The weight might not be much different...

Crap, so it's a completely different 5.7L DOHC motor, not just an aluminum version of the normal 350?

Yup. As I recall the LT-5 was designed for that car by Lotus.
